  • Captured this beautiful fall scene while on a motorcycle ride to Georgia, Nov. 2008. Didn’t seem fair to be separated from the beauty on the other side by that fence, so I just included it as well. Taken with Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8. / Light HDR processing and some Dodge & Burn applied.

  • A misty fall afternoon on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.

  • GOODBYE WINTER!!!!!! / / I know this look like selective coloring but it’s not,even the truck was white… :))) /

  • Steamboat Island,Washington state “BEGINNINGS” / The day was cooler than the last time I was here. You could smell the rain coming in from the west as it often does this time of year. That cool, moist north island air that makes you zip your jacket and turn up your collar. The leaves had turned red, yellow and orange and the grass along the edge of the drive had become a golden brown. / As I stepped out of my car, I felt a cool breeze touch my cheek and I walked up the drive, my feet crunching on the gravel and the fallen leaves. He was sitting on the ground, turned away from me, welding something onto the back of an enormous cargo trailer. It was the kind you see on the freeway, hauling about six cars on their way to a new destination. / The smoke from the red-hot welding rod drifted on the breeze and at that moment, he lifted his helmet and turned to see who was arriving. When he looked up and saw that it was me, a welcoming light came into his eyes and his smile warmed me in that instant. His eyes were clear and blue, more intense than I remembered. For a few brief seconds, we smiled before he explained to me what he was doing. He introduced his friend that he was working with and told me they were trying to get this done before the incoming rain. A few words more, don’t even recall what they were, it was all very polite and proper. All I could think of at that moment is that I wanted to touch him, and that feeling surprised even me. / I got in my car and slowly backed down the driveway, knowing how his voice would keep me company on the long drive home. Somehow, his last words, “See You” continued to echo in my mind and sounded like a promise. / I smiled all the way home…. • A path between the Aspen Groves. I loved this fence and the strong lines. The fence runs diagonal through the shot with the Aspen trees running verticle and the shadows from the fence running horizontal. Taken in Telluride, Colorado. /

  • Taken in Uncomphgre National Forest, Colorado. /

  • Thankfully even through high winds and alot of rain, a tree in my daughters back yard stood with beautiful leaves still on its branches and a blanket of them on the ground, after tomorrow we are in for more high winds I am sure alot of these will be falling off like crazy. Taken in Pigeon Michigan / Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens

  • This is the Isle of Skye at it’s best, when there is a lot of colour in the landcsape, with the low sun we get this far North at this time of year, accentuating every detail. / This is the crofting community of Tarskavaig, with the glorious backdrop of the Cuillin Hills. / “Crofting” is small time farming, or “smallholding” where a few crops might be grown, and a small number of cattle or sheep kept. A single RAW file, shot on my Canon EOS 50D , polariser filter, f25, 1/2 sec, underexposed by 2/3 stop, iso 100, auto wb, processed in Adobe CR, then in CS3.
