Near Lytle Creek I found this waterfall on an overcast day…
This was taken on a bright sunny day in June in the dark woods that surround the lower falls. I was very satisfied with the lighting, which added a fairly dramatic effect. But actually the image came out even better than in it looked in person, which was a gift in itself. All content & images © Stephen Vecchiotti. I honestly don’t remember how long ago I took this, it has to be at least 2 years ago, it was taken in Owen Sound at Ingils Falls, I have other shots of it in my portfolio, just not a winter one. I just played around with it a bit and this is what I came up with. I wanted it to have really good details and shadows and light. I hope you all like it! thanks so much for commenting and viewing! Please look at in larger view for details!!! =)smile / / /

It was taken on the Cascadilla creek in Ithaca, NY on 12/15/2008. I was here when I received the message Caleb was coming. I was with Jeffery Palm and he is an excellent photographer. We walked the trail until we got here and we turned around because the steps were too icy and the chains were broken on the railings walking up the steps. A Canon Rebel XTi camera.

A black and white pastel on black acid free paper of the beautiful, cascading Horseshoe Waterfalls, Australia. What delight we felt when we first discovered this. It was located at the end of our street where we used to live and was only a 5 minute walk, that took us to a peaceful place where we could forget the world for a while. It is still only a 10 minute drive away. Waterfalls are usually geological formations resulting from water, often in the form of a stream flowing over an erosion-resistant rock that forms a nickpoint or sudden break in elevation. Whatever the description waterfalls are a natural wonder and there are some breathtaking ones all over the world. The waterfall drops its sparkling veil / covering its rock face leaving slippery trails / twinkling drops of water bursting in the light / its beauty never ending even at night! Last week i went with a mate to Mt Field National Park for 3 days and we were planning to get on the top part of the mountain called The Tarn Shelf, but it visibility was so poor and rain so consistent that the chance of getting any photos would have been pretty poor, so we decided to just shoot the waterfalls and rivers/creeks, it was good to just walk around at a casual pace. / We’ve haven’t had this much rain in a few days for 20 odd years in Tas, so all the falls were flowing quite nicely. / It was great to get back in the wilderness, although when we walked into the cabin for the first time to find a woman that had tried to kill herself there was a little shock, but we and some other people in the other huts all helped out in any way they could, we got an ambo(2 showed up) there and she ended up being ok which was a relief. So that was a bit of a drama but the rest of the shoot was great, and so good to get all this rain, it’s amazing how green everything is now.
this was taken at Sommersby Falls NSW, Australia.
