Self-portrait. This particular day i was feeling very insecure about my body…so much so that the jeans stayed on…but i wanted to get naked… (Sold group- sold a mounted print of this)

For less expensive high quality prints of this photo, click here I set up a block and a mattress and had my model jump/fall off of the block onto the mattress and caught moments as she was midair and this is the one I felt fit the concept best. My model was MC / and we connected on Model Mayhem. She was great to work with and was very brave with the jumping. At one point I head her jumping up and backwards off of the table onto her back on the mattress. In order to make sure I knew how she felt up there so I could direct her better I went up there to show her some example falls and it was intimidating and terrifying, so I am really glad I didn’t have to model for this one.

This was the first in the up and coming seasonal series. Digital, Corel Painter 11, Wacom. I tried mostly to use red’s and oranges with the white as a grounding force, Hopefully to capture a snippet of the color of fall.

October is a month of mixed emotions…fall is so beautiful…the air crisp and clean…the skies bluer than blue…there is no other sound like that of the crunch of leaves underfoot as you go for a Sunday walk…but there is a feeling of regret that the joys of summer are gone…the warmth of the sun will now be gone for months…but for the children Hallowe’en brings it’s promise of sweet things…for us in Canada, thanksgiving is just around the corner…the painting seeks to incorporate all that is October in one radical hit…the colours, the sadness, the promise, the celebrations...
