Two leaves cast to the wind only to be rescued from the rushing water by a rock. A metaphor for life and way we can be cast to the winds of change and hustle and rush of everyday life. Yet one can find peace in our faith if we seek it. Refuge from the flood, the flow the busy lives we lead. Elowah falls tumbles some 200+ feet to the floor of the Columbia River Gorge. Taken on a rainy misty day in January. I never seen that much water coming over the falls.

Dip Falls Tasmania. Over time the constant flow of water over this hill has created an intricate network of individual stones which all huddle together as one. It would seem that this fallen tree has discovered the keystone – the one which holds all the others together under the onslaught of rushing water – and rises up to lend its love, strength and protection to this precious individual. A rushing creek and a few fallen leaves taking a brief respite from thier rapid trip downriver via breeze and rushing water. The rocks offer a brief sacntuary before they are swept away into the coming winter.

Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water

Lake Falls in Matthiessen State Park is possibly the most magical, spiritual waterfall I have ever photographed. It is special and always blesses me with a wonderful spiritual feel to it. It inspires me to be religous in some way that I cannot explain. / The whirlpool is like God. He has no beginning and no end.

What a magical place this is Natural Bridge (also known as Natural Arch), in the World Heritage-listed, Springbrook National Park, Queensland, Australia. Over millions of years, the waters of the mountain fed Cave Creek has worn away at the basalt cave roof, to create this natural wonder. Home to a colony of glow-worms, only visible after sunset. The short hiking walk takes you through some beautiful rainforest, most of the time, you can hear the falling waters of these falls. A must see if you come to the area! Canon 50D, 14mm. Stopped at Nigretta Falls near Hamilton Victoria on our way to Melbourne last week. Nice amount of water passing over the summit at the moment thanks to recent rains. Canon 400D with 17-85 lens. CIR Polariser to help slow the flow rate. No ND filter with me (Damn!) but the overcast day helped.
