I found the following verse while reading a book of poetry by Helen Steiner Rice. It goes so well with this image of Christ that I deleted the original image and reposted this to include the poem. We have God’s Easter promise, so let us seek a goal / That opens up new vistas for man’s eternal soul…. / For our strength and our security lie not in earthly things / But in Christ the Lord, who died for us and rose as / King of kings. I was very honored when my good friend Olga asked me to collaborate with her for a challenge yesterday. During the process, I was looking through Olga’s gallery and stumbled upon a beautiful image entitled Ring It immediately reminded me of the scriptures where Jesus is telling us that we must become like little children and that we must become born again in order to see the kingdom of Heaven. The precious hand of an innocent child along with the beautiful butterfly symbolizing profound changes of the soul just seemed to mesh together perfectly. I also really liked how the pattern on the butterfly’s wings was very similar in nature to one of my paintings. I merged them with scripture and added a few PS filters and this is the result of my own collaboration in addition to the challenge entry which Olga is working on. I have a color version but I preferred the black and white. Thank you Olga for such a beautiful image and for your wonderful friendship and support! I hope you like it, patience is not one of my strong suits! /

I Was Lifted Up On Angel’s Wings ~ By WhtDove I was lifted up on Angels’ wings, / And through the Heavens soared. / When I came upon a brilliant light, / I found it was my Lord. With hair like snow and eyes of fire, / I bowed before His feet. / In His presence it was hard to stand, / My sins felt like concrete. Head hung in sorrow, tears filled my eyes. / My mouth, it couldn’t speak. / My sins were overpowering me. / My soul, it just felt weak. A gentle hand reached out to touch me, / A voice like thunder spoke. / The love He gave enveloped my soul, / My heart no longer broke. He put His loving arms around me, / Such peace that I felt then. / I was quite content in knowing that, / He’d do it all again. Our righteous acts are like filthy rags, / The Lord reminded me. / Come in unto Me my precious child, / For I can set you free. I was lifted up on Angel’s wings, / And through the Heavens soared. / I had been forgiven my sin and… / My soul had been restored. / /
