  • As those who know my work are all aware: I don’t usually “play with” Photoshop effects (of course except frames as I love framing). This time I can’t resist the concept so I used “vivid light” as an effect and add an extra gradient layer on top of the photo. I can only hope it worked.

  • The middle-aged buck came right out in front the camera as if to say “Hey, remember me?!” :) Nobody could forget him (not River or me) because he met with us everyday from last spring to fall! And we both love him! :) Everyday we managed to get to the woods to meet with him, our day seemed “right” and “whole” because of it. He made us happy and encountering, watching and playing with him IS, true to the meaning of the word, our (my dog River’s and mine) passion! For the remembrance of this magnificent buck, I shall donate this piece of work to charity for his, and the well being of all the living in the forest! Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada

  • My mule deer family was having an intense discussion about something – I suspected that it was about River who mistook herself for a fawn! :) They knew that the fawns “initiated” her “identity confusion” – not sure River, or most of the fawns, wanted to “fix” it though, as they all seemed to enjoy a “dog-fawn” among them. :)

  • In the flurry, River and I drove out of the city and waited for the sunrise and it came! :) So, this is my last Sunrise of this year! And I hope you all like it. :) This is my way of saying: Happy New Year everyone!

  • conceptual view of sitting girl with blue sky on the background / our children are always in the center of our universe

  • Or journey of the lost soul…I guess every day is a failure. I fail to live up to my own life. But I will die trying! I’m ready to make a leap of consciousness. The old struggles are no longer interesting. They do not engage my mind. My energy passes through them-they are mirages. I once sought big monuments of proof that I existed-no more. For me going deeper is better. Deeper insight is all that I seek…and a beautiful cup to drink from.

  • “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” Romans 12-1 Have you ever felt unloved, abandoned and without hope? I’ve found that my most personal and cherished times with the Lord Jesus are those darkest of days when I have no where else to turn. It is in those times of deep pain and despair when I discover my need to surrender all, and offer to Him the sacrifice of my praise. He has promised to never leave me, even though he knows all about me and the mess that I’ve made of things. As I look back and remember all that He has done for me, I am reassured that He still loves me as His child. This painting has been uniquely rendered with a time-intensive method that uses only the text from the selected Bible verse above as the paintbrush. The Painting with Light technique takes more than 40 hours to render as the verse is repeatedly “brushed” millions of times. The final result is a never-before possible work of modern art, using only God’s word wondrously repeated in a vivid palette of colors. The tiny key-strokes of color are too small to be seen when viewing from a distance; but resonates a vibrant spiritual message of purpose, hope and joy from our Heavenly Father for those whom He has given a “heart to perceive, and eyes to see”. The creative method is much like Seurat’s pointillism technique that creates beautiful large paintings using only small dabs of color. This modern variation unites points of color with powerful and purposeful scripture from the Word of God; a true marriage of color and everlasting light. “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Isaiah 55:11 NLT VerseVisions® Inspirational Art with a Promise! • “The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” Psalm 138:8 The God of all time and space knows you by name and has a special purpose just for you. He personally created you, He has plans for you, and His love for you will endure forever. These truths are recorded in the 138th Psalm and are both an assurance and an encouragement for all believers as we look forward to the return of our Lord and Shepherd, Jesus Christ. This painting has been uniquely rendered with a time-intensive Painting with Light method that uses only the text from the selected Bible verse above as the paintbrush. • ”...in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52 Mark Lawrence, 1 Corinthians 15:52 Painting with Light Verse Visions, 2007. The final result is a picture that perhaps God first used to catch your eye, and then used to touch and encourage your heart.

  • Jesus Christ, The Heir of All Things “Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he _made the worlds;” _Hebrews 1:2 Jesus, Jesus, full of all compassion, / Hear Thy humble suppliant’s cry; / Let me know Thy great salvation, / See, I languish, faint and die. Guilty, but with heart relenting, / Overwhelmed with helpless grief, / Prostrate at Thy feet repining, / Send, O send me quick relief. Whither should a wretch be flying, / But to Him Who comfort gives? / Whither, from the dread of dying, / But to Him Who ever lives? While I view Thee, wounded, grieving, / Breathless, on the cursèd tree, / Fain, I’d feel my heart believing, / That Thou sufferedst thus for me. With Thy righteousness and Spirit, / I am more than angels blest; / Heir with Thee, all things inherit, / Peace, and joy, and endless rest. Jesus Christ, The Heir of All Things; Hebrews 1:2 . • “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24 Do you ever stop and think about eternity? As a follower of Jesus Christ I look forward to the day when I will leave this earth and join my Lord in His Kingdom. When my burden seems more than I can bear it encourages me to know that my assignment here is only temporary. It’s to that day when I will join my Lord that I press towards. It seems that life is passing me by at the speed of light these days. Monday blurs into Friday and problems come and go. As I grow older I realize that the only constant thing that I have as I pass through time is the council and wisdom that I receive while reading my Bible and talking with God. His Word gives me peace, makes me strong and gives me eternal perspective. When I listen to God rather than the voices of men things also become much clearer. I give up my desire to run in a worldly race that cannot be won, in order to receive and cherish a gift that no one can ever take away from me- the free gift of eternal life. Lord Jesus, thank you for the joy and promise of eternal life that you have put before me. Thank you for knowing me, for understanding me, and for still loving me. How I long to be with you in paradise. Until that day comes Lord, please have your way with me and lead me patiently through this life as your child. • “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” Titus 3:5 Believe in the promises of God. Know in the depth of your heart that you can trust God to be true to what He had promised and bring you through your troubles. As a child of Jesus Christ there is absolutely nothing that can occur in our lives that God has not promised to see us through. God is always there to help us when we cannot help ourselves. He is mighty on our behalf. God never sleeps as He watches over us, and no trouble that comes our way can catch Him off guard. Once we accept Christ as our Savior, God is with us, ready to love and help us in our time of need. We have His promise on that! Blessed of God, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ”. • “Separated unto the Gospel” Romans 1:1 I sometimes get so caught up in trying to be good in the eyes of God. I find myself so preoccupied with my own inner behavior that I lose sight of what God has called me to do first and foremost- proclaim the Gospel. I justify this by thinking that there is no way that I can be used by God to witness to others until I clean up all of the garbage within myself. The truth is, if I wait until I am personally “holy”, I will never be of any use to God here on earth. God is very interested in reaching and saving His lost children, yet I am more interested in how He can make me more pleasing in my own eyes. Father God, forgive me for my selfishness and pour into me your passion and urgency to proclaim the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ. This painting was inspired by the powerful devotions penned and published by Oswald Chambers in the early 1900’s. His powerful book, My Utmost for His Highest, continues to touch my life and draw me closer to Jesus. I hope that this art and verse do the same for you! • Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “ Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” Isaiah 6:2-3 Imagine angels covering their faces in the blazing glory of God as they cry out “Holy, holy, holy”. Have you ever been blinded by the sun? God is absolutely pure and sinless as our Creator, King and Judge. When we stand before him convicted of our sins on Judgment day, what will our response be when He asks us why we should be allowed into His Kingdom? Are we good enough to go to Heaven? Take a quick quiz and find out… Mark Lawrence, Isaiah 6:2-3 Painting with Light, VerseVisions, 2007. Digital mixed media on canvas, 36×36 inches. Copyright © 2007 by Mark Lawrence.
