  • The Loss describes the fact that we all lost something, then we feel so lonely. It can be something or someone that made of us what we are, that made that we felt alive. / But finally all those events that hurt us so much built us, make us stronger and give us something in addition, something that will make us special! We only notice that (for those who notice it) a very long time later… In this creation this loss is reprensentated by the snail’s cockle, like if before she was in it, this was on her back, just like when a snail leave it. / But look at her back, ya see what she got in return? Wings. / The tree branches on her head symbolize her thoughts, so deeply rooted in her mind that she cannot see the good days and hope that are coming to her! This represents our blocked thoughts, when we feel so bad that we cannot help from having dark and depressive thoughts. / She also has elvish ears, the magicks she cannot see yet! So this creation is for those who actually feel bad, who have felt bad, who will feel bad. . Yet sold two posters of this creation. My gallery is Copyright © Wandering Soul. • The complete and real title is : “Poupée – InnerSelf”. I asked to myself : Stars… They bright the sky, our eyes, our mind & soul. They are inside of us. We always look for them, for these glimpses of lights and happiness. / Do we really know ourselves? / Do we realize that we have all of this inside of us? / What are we in fact? / As we don’t really look in the correct place, we don’t really know ourselves i decided to ‘almost’ delete the face. • Sometimes faeries take humans away to beautiful, magical places but sometimes, the places they take us are dark and not so beautiful. This was done for a project themed “Fear’s Playground.” It’s based on a nightmare I had a few years ago where this malevolent nixie was terrorizing a small town and killing off young men. The dream started with her drowning a surfer so that’s the scene I illustrated here. It was actually a rather terrifying dream—I guess because I have such a strong fear of drowning.

  • Airbrushed and mixed media My Work Was Featured In Fantasy Art / (Thanks Everyone) Read the Collaboration of Written Work by Tony Hedger Part 2 of 2 / The way to get there is many in choice, / But a good first step is the inner voice. / By air, or water, by earth or fire, / Fairyland is your hearts desire. There you are free, all you can be, / And everything is real. / You could sit for a while, / Upon a sundial, / And chase the rays of the light, / You could float on the air, / Without any care, / Or fly with butterfly wings. / Buzz with the bees, and fly through the trees, / Float down with the falling leaves. You could go on a boat, / Through sparkling waters, / Made out of the shell of a tortoise. / Sit in the ring where the fairies all sing, / Drink, dance, fairy fling. / Diddle on the fiddle, play fairy in the middle, / Sparkle, shine, drink buttercup wine. / T’is close, you must believe, / Just follow the voice from within. • Featured in Halloween and Inspired Art groups This image goes along with the poem Something Wicked by autumnwind as part of a collaboration for the Halloween Art & Writing Challenge in the Halloween Group * “Something Wicked” / The wondrous age of twelve years old / Holds stories yet have not been told / Of places chanced upon in fright / Where evil lurked with all its might / By name the Reservoir so called / A magnet dark, hung low and crawled / Its venom veiled and so enticed / For those who dared upon it thrice That summer’s eve I shan’t forget / As now recalled with deep regret / For death arose, its shape unfurled / And offered up it’s Godless world / Trembling so, yet held bewitched / The wind encircled and transfixed / Design of malice so precise / For those who dared upon it thrice This foulest dread did not offend / Enraptured rather to the end / In blackest beauty lust transcends / And so devoured my dearest friend / Whatever broke thy devils trance / I offer up to heaven’s chance / As wicked waged its dire device / For those who dared upon it thrice In nightmares beauty changes form / Of deadly charms I do thee warn / Seducing madness paid its price / For those who dared upon it thrice* Acrylic on 9×12 canvas board- Inspired by the song ‘A Beautiful Lie’ by 30 Seconds to Mars. I was watching the music video for “A Beautiful Lie” by 30 Seconds to Mars, and was really touched by the intro with the Eskimos. (If you haven’t seen this, here’s the link! A Beautiful Lie Video ) The band is really breaking grounds by putting this environmental awareness stuff out there. (It can make or break your career in the music biz) I also thought that the director/photographer for the video was a genious! It’s such a captivating and stunning video, the shots of the scenery is amazing! So….I downloaded the CD. (It’s one of my faves right now….GREAT music!) Without the video to distract, I listened to the song with my eyes closed, as I knew this one would work for my next painting. (This is kinda part of my process right now. LOL) The little electric sounds at the beginning and end of the song made me feel like I was either falling into space or just into the dark oblivion. Empty, alone, fragile…..that’s where the background came from. IT’s a deep deep blue almost black – I added the parts that kind of spin out from the inner circle to show that things are spinning out of controll and that you’re spiraling down into the depths of something. Once I had the background done, I went back to listening to the song while the paint dried. This time, I saw that poor poor faerie was the one falling into nothing. This is when I decided to keep everything dark – whites blacks and grays – because I knew there would be an explosion of red. The white and gray leaves came next. I felt like the gray wasn’t the right color, but thought it might look better after adding the trunk and branches. So, I went with a solid black for that. I chose the black to keep with the dark theme, but also because it would really stand out in some parts, yet kind of fade into the background in other areas. (A Beautiful Lie – this is a beautiful tree, but is it really there?) This is when I hated it and wanted to trash it and start over! Instead, I stepped away from it for 2 days – came back refreshed and decided to add in the red & silver. I did the silver to throw in a brighter color to balance the piece a bit, but to also show the etherealness of the faerie. The faerie has fallen and was basically held by the tree. Shes fading into the background and there are spots of her silver body throughout the piece. She’s kind of becoming everything around her. I very much believe in reincarnation and life after death. (Which is also why the pose is almost like the crusifix.) It’s kind of a play on organized religion and what we’ve been told about death in general – It’s all a beautiful lie! :) The red was chosen to symbolize blood. This makes the viewer pose some questions – is it all blood? are those blood splatters or wings? are those blood spots or flowers in the tree? All in all, it’s a play on reality – what’s really there? what isn’t? Is it all just a beautiful lie?! “Lie awake in bed at night / And think about your life / Do you want to be different? / Try to let go of the truth / The battles of your youth / ‘Cause this is just a game It’s a beautiful lie / It’s a perfect denial / Such a beautiful lie to believe in / So beautiful, beautiful it makes me…” Full lyrics / A Beautiful Lie Video / 30 Seconds to Mars

  • The Aos Sidhe (pronounced “ess shee”), are a powerful, supernatural race comparable to the fairies or elves of other traditions. / They live in an invisible world that coexists with the world of humans. / The Gaelic Otherworld is seen as being closer at the times of dusk and dawn, therefore this is seen as a time special to the Aos Sidhe, as are some of the festivals such as Samhain and Midsummer. The Aos Sidhe are generally described as stunningly beautiful, though they can also be terrible and hideous. I cursed myself for walking too deep into the forest and missing seeing the sunset from the view point high on the hillside like i intended, but the evening rays brought colour to the forest like I wouldnt have imagined. / The forest is very much still in green, but the backlighting from the sunset has given such warmth to the leaves. As it was so late in the day, this is a 1 second exposure. other photos from the forests around my home / / Loki’s Forest

  • Autumnal colours deep in the woods are picked out by the late sunlight. I’m sure little eyes are watching as I take the shot. Harrow Weald Common, Middlesex.

  • This is a shot taken in Spring of the bluebells that carpet the floor of the Weald. I remember playing In and Out the Dusty Bluebells as a child at school. I wonder if it is still played anywhere today? In and out the dusty bluebells: All but one of the children stand in a circle, hold hands, and then lift them up into arches. The remaining child weaves in and out of the arches to the tune of In and out the dusty bluebells, In and out the dusty bluebells, In and out the dusty bluebells, Who shall be my partner? The child then stops and stands behind one of the other children in the circle. While they all sing the chorus, the child behind taps on the child’s shoulder in front. Tippy tippy tappy on your shoulder, Tippy tippy tappy on your shoulder. Tippy Tippy tappy on your shoulder, You shall be my partner. The child behind then gets hold of the second child’s waist, and they weave through the arches together, with the remaining children cloing up the circle. Thetwo then pick a third child at the chorus, and so on, with the line getting longer and longer until the last two in the circle foorma an arch, one gets chosen as the last partner and the last child starts a new game in the middle. How simple life was then.

  • This is an old image from 2007. / It’s a self portrait taken indoors with studio lighting and then I had a stock image of a forest I composed onto the background. It was done so long ago I don’t have the information on where I got the forest stock, so I can’t credit it. But it was a moderately used texture which doesn’t dominate the piece. The hair was saturated in PS. © Jessica Walker

  • / Half coloured, thank you to gottheshot friend and fellow bubbler for the idea! / I have also a softer pink version, I would really appreciate some feedback as to which version you like the best, thank you :) / / / Original drawing, please note the actual rainbow that appeared on the drawing from light coming in through the trees outside the window of my studio, hence her name…. Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever!
