  • We may be taught not to judge a book by its cover, but when we see a new face, our brains decide whether a person is attractive and trustworthy within a tenth of a second. The lines on this man’s face carry the story of his life. It is a glimpse into the soul of a survivor—a man weathered by life and the elements. It is a portrait without pride, but equally without surrender.

  • The scholar always aspires to expand the knowledge for themselves, as well as for all humanity. The teachings are given for the community; to learn, to grow, to evolve. When time has taken them, few can recall their noble thoughts. There are some, however, that hold on to the ideals passed down through the ages. It is then when the scholar’s endeavors are rewarded… in the rising laureate. Dedicated to my sweetheart. My sweetheart and I attended a Renaissance Fair in Kansas City some years ago where, in an old building, I stumbled upon a dark corner of forgotten objects. I loved the look, the gathering of old pieces hardly looked upon, and tried my best to get a good photograph. I upped the ISO, which accounts for the noise, though I’m glad it turned out this way. The grittiness truly shows the aging, here. Canon EOS 30D DSLR

  • This is a photo I took the other day at an old mattress factory that belonged to a friend. I was taking photos of the old doors and windows. But it wasn’t until I upload the photos on to my computer that I noticed I captured something more then just a old window here!! I captured a ghostly figure of what looks to be a man looking out the window and down the road as if he is looking for someone! You can see him in the bottom middle window pane! I have done nothing to this photo other then darken . I would love to fined out if there is any history about this old building !! The only thing I know as of right now is that it has been a mattress factory sence the 1920’s ! Would love to here ya’lls opinions on this ! The face was as plan as day to me , But am I the only one that can see this or can ya’ll see it also? Oh and by the way there was no one in the factory we had just locked it up and was fixen to leave when i took this photo of the window. I will be looking into any history I can find on this place , and if I find anything out I will up date it on here with this photo! Happy Shooting ,you never know what or who in this case you will find in your photos ! Carla

  • A hot melbourne night and an argument with my housemate kept me awake and gave me a chance to complete this … the flower-face has been sitting around, but i was struggling with what to do with it, until i stumbled over a photo i took of the view from my bedroom window a while back – love them snapshots! They respond well to tweaking. / Think this has something to do with beginnings and endings … turned 40 this year – the ageing process is in there too, definitely..!
