The faces are from various photos and were blended in with layer blend effects in Photoshop so that the textures of the leaves look like they’re following the contours of the faces. Basic picture is a forest floor in autumn.

Just trying new things sometimes gives something realy surprising…..experimenting is so much fun, you’ll never know what you’re gone get…. :)) / The making of that image is so simple, with Picasa I put the two pics together, one of a macro shot of bark without cropping and a portrait of my boyfriend listenning to his friends sitting at the patio table.I darked arround a little and that’s it.I didn’t have to do ajustment for the eye and the ear,it’s like the two pics were meant to fit together… :))) / 18 NOV 09 ….6,597 VIEWS / I sold a matted print on the 29 th of november 08 to an unknown bubbler and that image was edited in the book “Gaïa the living planet” Same processing as Torn / When I did that image I thought about how menkind should be more united with the earth ,to feel renewed by the the contact of nature to become a better individuaL,TO BECOME A FREE THINKER.As long as we are trying to control the earth nothing good will come out of it,I often thought that we should be more like trees who are the lungs of our beautiful planet. / My friend C.C Arshagra wrote a wonderful poem inspired by this image,C.C realy understood what I felt when I named that piece. / That poem is called The Free Thinker would.. /

Untouched and a total accident,a macro shot of snow that fell down the roof last winter.I hope I’m not the only one who sees a part of a face in the clouds… :))...better view larger So close,so far… / It felt like eternity… / I walked …and walked / lost in a paradise of ice Hopelessly crying, hoping / to be delivered from that immensity. / I reached to the top of that icy pic / and saw a small refuge. For an euphoric instant / I saw His Face in the clouds / The Keeper of my souvenirs / I knew ,then / The reason of my wanderring… Gigi / / My first poem in english and first experience for me.This situation happened to me two days ago,I’ve got lost in the woods for 4 hours, walking and walking, desperate to find a saving light. It was so dark, even Tchoko was worried, chasing imaginary animals….then I saw thousands of stars all arround me,it was fireflies….it was like being part of the universe…nothing else but fireflies…then I realised I was out of the woods.I met 6 persons and asked for help, one of them let me do a phone call but Michel was working late and wasn’t there.I have to say that I hated humanbeings that night and I cried of rage instead of fear.I finaly saw a police car on the road and went back to where I was parked. It was midnight.Tchoko and I slept all day after, tired but happy to be home. / ...A true story ..thanks for reading…x / / PS. I wanted to do the sunset on the top of a mountain, the same place I took «Together at last»but I forgot the time shooting mushrooms…. :)))..it’s all me. / /

This was another piece I did for a local benefit two years ago. All participating artists were given 12×12” plywood boards that we could do whatever we liked with. I took a print of my drawing Rock, Scissors, Paper / and cut it down – wrapping it entirely around the board. Then I added white painted branches and made some little leaves out of screen for embellishment. This was awarded at the exhibition to my surprise and delight. Here is what it looked like in entirety: / (Signed and numbered limited-edition prints of the original drawing are available at cynthia’s store) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Well as you can see from the images below, The Empty Studio has been all about inks…my inks had been put away for so long some of them had dried out, and had to be discarded, but I still have an assortment of acrylic inks, and have been using mostly sepia and black for this collection… Today I added a bit of colour to this latest painting of Hollyhocks…they seemed to need it…I’ve had the sketch forever in my files, and I don’t know where it originated, but at one time I did grow these regal flowers in my garden and maybe the idea came from that time of my life Acrylic Inks on Cotton Paper… Silently a flower blooms, / In silence it falls away; / Yet here now, at this moment, at this place, / The world of the flower, the whole of / the world is blooming. / This is the talk of the flower, the truth / of the blossom: / The glory of eternal life is fully shining here. / - Zenkei Shibayama..
“Poppy” is the newest addition to the Empty Studio collection…the studio is getting a lot emptier as the day for installation draws nearer, so I decided to go back to long ago childhood crafts, and create this flower in a very old but unique way, painting it with lemon juice…I added a bit of detail with a bamboo pen…I am thrilled with the results, and plan to do a lot more of these..... see others in the series below Lemon Juice on Cartridge Paper At dawn I unite with the breeze / To announce the coming of light; / At eventide I join the birds / In bidding the light farewell. / The plains are decorated with / My beautiful colors, and the air / Is scented with my fragrance. / As I embrace Slumber the eyes of / Night watch over me, and as I / Awaken I stare at the sun, which is / The only eye of the day..from The Song of the Flower by Gibran.
