I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty.

Model – Meluxine The height of winter, she’s laying on wet frozen ground, in a vintage dress and my ugg boots, full to the brim with Hungry Jacks, watching me dance like a crazy person with a head cold around her when suddenly the sun breaks through right at the perfect moment, and she manages to pull of that look like it’s as easy as microwave popcorn. / This girl rocks. So close,so far… / It felt like eternity… / I walked …and walked / lost in a paradise of ice Hopelessly crying,hoping / to be delivered from that immensity. / I reached the top of that icy pic / and saw a small refuge. For an euphoric instant / I saw His Face in the clouds / The Keeper of my souvenirs / I knew ,then / The reason of my wanderring… Gigi / / My first poem in english and first experience for me.This situation happened to me two days ago,I’ve got lost in the woods for 3 hours,walking and walking,desperate to find a saving light.It was so dark,even Tchoko was worried,chasing imaginary animals….then I saw thousands of stars all arround me,it was fireflies….it was like being part of the universe…nothing else but fireflies…then I realised I was out of the woods.I met 6 persons and asked for help,one of them let me do a phone call but Michel was working late and wasn’t there.I have to say that I hated humanbeings that night and I cried of rage instead of fear.I finaly saw a police car on the road and went back to where I was parked.It was midnight.Tchoko and I slept the day after,tired but happy to be home. / ...A true story ..thanks for reading…x / / PS. I wanted to do the sunset on the top of a mountain,the same place I took «Together at last»but I forgot the time shooting mushrooms…. :)))..it’s all me. / / A macro shot of snow that fell down the roof last winter.I hope I’m not the only one who sees a part of a face in the clouds… :))...better view larger.

For tafe we had to find a studio portrait image and copy it as best as we could so that our images were as close as possible to identical. This is my resulting image… / her mum doesnt know about this shot yet :S

From the series “Lit by the Dark of the Shadow’. This image was the grand-daddy of them all – on the wall at 1300×900mm, whilst the other 13 were 700×500mm. I chose to do this one large as it pretty much summed up everything I wanted to address with this show. Journey and exploration, choice and consequence, and polarities such as ego and shadow, light and dark, positive and negative. We each present a side of us to the world that is bathed in light, goodness and fertility. We hide or suppress our darkness, our ugly bits of which we’re ashamed. My question within this show is, if we each acknowledge or experience our own shadow are we not more knowledgable about ourselves, and consequently the world we exist in?
