  • When you have a roll of thick masking tape and a face, you can’t help but pretend to be an emote…. right :-) enjoy x Also because i’ve recently joined the “budget photographers” group I feel that it is important to say how you don’t have to be minted to express yourself. I edit everything with Gimp which is free software, I use free lighting (high 5 to the sun anyone) and I used in this case a window ledge, jewellery box and a book as a tripod. Chocolate hearts and bunny truffles to these groups for the feautures :-D / Shameless Self Promotion / Young Enthusiasts / Photographers self Portraits / Artrageous RB Artists

  • / / Best viewed large / / Detail / Self Portrait for the Happy Challenge in which you have to rate yourself on a scale from 1-10 (1 being seriously depressed, 10 being the happiest) and then create self-portrait expressing that state. Any artistic medium/technique is allowed. Hmmm I’m thinking glass half full at the moment, and enjoying all the colours of the rainbow in Inner Child, so i shall rate myself as a reserved 7.0… the painting is a reflection of myself at my most peaceful, daydreaming as I tend to do often…. The painting began as a pencil drawing on cardboard, using chalk pastels and charcoal to lightly fill in the flesh tones, finished off the piece adding to it digitally in Photoshop. / Here it is prior to photoshop. / The portrait looks quite serious, which is translating as sadness, and I can see what everyone’s saying.. but I was happy at the time. The Challenge is now open for entries. Voting starts in 20 days.

  • / the real me / for the Happy Challenge – my happiness rating out of 10 points is 7.5 gradually inching my way up to 10 lol / / original pencil drawing (coloured in photoshop) / Yesterday I added “Spectrum 7.0” to red bubble but have since renamed it Inner Child as after I talked with you all and listened to your comments, the title seemed more appropriate. I just wasn’t so happy with “Inner Child”... i felt i must be able to do something better than that, and Paul McClintock’s brilliant portrait, inspired me so much, that i forgot to go shopping today, am still in my pj’s and pushed myself hard to produce something more professional and more worthy of the challenge. So here’s my new self portrait for the Happy Challenge in which you have to rate yourself on a scale from 1-10 (1 being seriously depressed, 10 being the happiest) and then create self-portrait expressing that state. Any artistic medium/technique is allowed. It’s called …..’as I am’ I drew this from a photograph I have from one of my avatars, i did what Paul said he did, worked from looking at it on the computer, and was able to create a better likeness this way, than from trying to draw myself ‘live’ in the mirror. I tell you what, it’s the scariest process for me to try, because i get so down if i stuff things up, and with a portrait there’s no room for really making a mess of it, you just have to get a likeness in there…. I am very very very proud of this… I am definitely a little plumper, but there is something very much me here…I hope you like it… The challenge doesn’t open for another 5 hours so get your pencils out everyone and start your portraits!! :) In the portrait I am wearing one of my favourite necklaces which is a glass disc with art by Frozenfa called Dear Pillow from her Silentcries gallery here on Red Bubble The Challenge is opens for entries soon. Voting starts in about 20 days.

  • Nikon D90 / Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 D lens Featured in model beginnings My daughter Abi and I did a shoot tonight. Before we did it I told her about a few of my friends on here that were going through some things in their life. She said she felt bad and sad for them and wanted to do some fun shots that might bring a smile to their face. So this is just a fun shot and a big hug from Abi and I. Everything’s gonna be alright…..smile :)

  • a pencil drawing, coloured digitally, fish from another painting. Cropped version Tribal / Many thanks to Keith Richardson for my signature chop
