Ez Hobits Family Calendar, one happy family! Sorry I couldn’t put a group picture in but it’s hard getting everyone together, what with the nieces off at school, brother Limm’s off hunting and uncle Walt’s in jail again… Maybe next year.
I drive by this place atleast twice a day and I love how they really get into the spirit of all the holidays. Last year my husband and I took our grandkids there to pick out some pumpkins; still need to do that yet this year!

Greatest place to stop & see the hardwork many have put into their cars rain or shine. Good burgers, REAL icecream shakes this establishment has been in Palmdale since 1969. Had the pleasure of stopping by after seeing my son race at Days in the Dirt. We had the best shakes that quenched our thirst. Saw some awesome cars, and bikes and enjoyed the view. Hope if you’re ever out there in Palmdale near the LACR you’ll enjoy it too! Leih
Some of you women probably remember growing up with ez bake ovens in the 50’s. A kids toy oven. That’s what this typeface means to me. A cool retro 50’s feel. In the lower right hand corner is my Uncle Ezra P. Totman(Uncle Tot) . Next to him is my Aunt Ann (Grandpa Smart’s Sister – on my mother’s side). They are sitting with his mother above and his sister “Fluffy”. I do not know who that other man is…...he would not be Uncle Tot’s father because he would have passed away by this time. It is probably around 1915 at Fluffy’s house in Maine. Ezra P. Totman was born in Bangor Maine. His father owned a small bank in the same town. Uncle Ez was one of the younger sons and did not go into banking with his older brothers. Uncle Ez took off to build his fortune in New York He landed a job with Western Union in New York City. He had something to do with the “tele-ex” machines which carried news across the country …......along with that new it carried “STOCK INFORMATION”. LOLOL Very quietly my Uncle Ez began buying certain stocks…..... One of which he bought a great deal of was AT&T. It was here at Western Union, Uncle Ez met my Grandfather, John Stuart Smart, the poor young Irish emigrant who worked as a “runner”. They became good friends and would “hoist a few” at the end of the working day. Somehow, Uncle Ez became introduced to my Aunt Ann (Grandpa’s sister).....maybe is was my all a part of my Grandfather’s elaborate plan? They fell in love and were married shortly afterward. I can only imagine what my Aunt Ann felt as she was lifted in both social and monitary staus into the life of Uncle Ez. Surely it must have been like a dream to her. Uncle Ez stayed with Western Union becoming extremely successful in the company. His stock portfolio also did quite well for some reason :)))) He and my Aunt Ann would take wonderful train trips across the United States as he traveled for Western Union. I can remember my mother saying, “Uncle Tot used to call Aunt Ann and tell her to pack their bags and meet him at Central Station in NYC at 5 PM that evening. They would be off on another wonderful trip via the rail road across our nation. Aunt Ann and Uncle Ez were never blessed with children. But,, instead, doted on my mother and her sister and brother.
