    by Birgitta

    US$3.56–US$95.00

We wanted to send man to the moon. / We did. We wanted to supply man with a / way to communicate through fiber optics. / We did that too. But what happens when the / human counterpart is so reliant on technology, / that it forgets to…be human? Numbers, dates, / appointments all stored in a portable database. / Families forget to interact with each other because / they all have a human counterpart that they can connect / with. Patience is a thing of the past because anything / they want is at their fingertips. Ideas are unoriginal / because they have all been thought of before; typed, dated, / and logged. Welcome to the Butterfly Effect. / Welcome to our world. / / / Hand painted (mouse painted..heh.) digital oil / (taken from my own eye) / Corel Paint Shop Pro/Corel Painter X/Apophysis / This is my first hand painted digital oil. / Challenge Cafe Entry / / / Special thanks to Helene Kippert Paul Tupman and Stacylee for your influences. ;) / / / Runner up in the Challenge Cafe Contest / Thanks to all who voted on it!

  • Eye Heart You
    by funkyfacestudio

    US$4.84–US$129.20

I wasn’t bored…......... :) because I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to be doing…....paying bills and doing housework, he he he, believe me , I made this drag out as long as I possibly could and that was easy because there is no way to time a stinking, huge droplet to fall where you want it to. When the fun was over…....sadly I went back to the reality of the mundane and did what I was supposed to do but with a much happier attitude :) that’s my story and I’m sticking to it :) Photograph of a droplet/eyeball with a background of a painted cement block, / Selective coloring and shadow added.

  • Ash
    by Ange

P/S Retouched by Ange. Digital Photograph shot by Stak Constantinou. (2007). Model: Ashley. Hair & Makeup: Gemma Parsons. I retouched/airbrushed higher facing shoulder, a blemish on the arm & evened out fringe hairline with emphasis on the eyebrows for further definition (filling them in). Also added extra hundreds & thousands to the outer edges of her lips were they’d come off during the shoot. Model (& photographer) were initially put off with the styling & she couldn’t even speak with the stuff stuck to her lips but it worked a treat for the shoot. Photographer Stak is a colleague of mine (photography lecturer at Raffles – KvB). Crazy day on the shoot but always a pleasure to work with. People find this shot somewhat amusing…it is tongue in cheek…re: high fashion photography. Original before shot image below.

When Paul Vanzella told me he was shooting with Sarah, I bought, begged and stole my way into that shoot. And who could blame me! I was there as a second model and helping out with styling but I couldn’t resist firing off a couple of snaps while Paul and Sarah were doing their thing. Model: Sarah Lea Cheesecake / Photographer: Jo O’Brien / Lighting Design: Paul Vanzella Due to the nature of this collaboration, this image is for sale at cost price

  • Wild At Heart
    by Globalphotos

    US$4.28–US$114.00

Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. • Horse Lashes
    by Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo

    US$14.96–US$79.80

“The eyes of this friendly horse captivated me. Keeping a short distance from my face, he looked at me intently with an inquiring eye. The afternoon sunlight was golden and bathed his coat in a sheer layer. The mane flew softly around his pretty face while he demanded to be given a carrot with steady hoof stamps in front of me. / / I had no carrots, yet a friendly pat on his velvety muzzle earnt me a swift amicable slurp from his soft lips. I took close-ups at his handsome looks. / / This frame portrays the beautiful colour, hues and iridescence of the mane and lashes, all set aglow in the warm sunlight.” / / Artist statement / My photographs are not enhanced; they represent the true nature and colours of the subjects as captured by the lens. I never lure my animated subjects to come close to me: spontaneity is the key. / / This is an original uncropped image. / / =========================================================== / All proceeds from the sale of this piece of artwork and the rest of my equine photography in all my galleries will be donated in equal ways to the following equine charities: / / Equus Sanctuary Dedicated to saving the equine family and enriching their lives. / / Shiloh Horse Rescue Dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused, neglected, injured, unwanted, and slaughter-bound horses of all types. / / Redwings Horse Sanctuary Care for and protect horses, ponies, donkeys and mules in dire need. / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / Carmen, creator of Art for Conservation / / “Equine Beauty” – New Calendar Series 2008 / / / / © Copyright Carmen Mandel-Cesáreo / / Browse my new calendar series with proceeds aiding equine rescue charities. / /

  • “There is nothing more astoundingly beautiful than the female form. If we look at the thought of God as an artist. . . and that the artist keeps creating until he finally creates that certain something that he feels is the end all, be all of his creative process, and then stops. . . then we have part of the answer to that question here. God made all of these things – the land, the oceans, the trees, the animals, man. . . then woman. The last thing he made was the woman. Everything that was created contains parts of the previous creation. All leading up to one inescapable conclusion. All parts lead, somehow, to a final. . . and then you stop when you feel you have reached the optimum. The last creation was woman. Something that contained all of the beauties and elements of the creations before it. There has been nothing new since then. So I guess the Artist was happy. . . and then just….stopped. . . feeling that that was the optimum creation. That it couldn’t get any better than that.” - Jeffrey Scott (aka 1019) model: Dana
