So much beauty can still be found in a flower that is starting to fade. This black eyed susan immediately caught my eye with all the wonderful autumn colors in its wilting petals. Photo taken in my garden – Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /

I’ve entered the word of layering images and it is SO MUCH FUN! After my first week of practice this is the first creation I felt was worthy of upload to RB. This work of art includes the combination of 2 images – a monarch butterfly, and a black-eyed susan. I enhanced the colors in 3 sections of the monarch’s wing to tie the colors in the composition together and purposely made the butterfly smaller than life. I have entered an entirely new world here and am excited at the possibilities that lie ahead as I search through my extensive collection of images for future works :o) / / Original floral image. / / FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST

It is thought that the name “daisy” is a corruption of “day’s eye”, because the whole head closes at night and opens in the morning. Chaucer called it “eye of the day”. Wikipedia / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

And I know He watches over me! ...and my family …and you! This beautiful little sparrow here landed next to me as I was photographing flowers at Descanso Gardens in Southern California. He was a true reminder of God’s faithfulness to me at a time that I really needed a reminder! Featured Photo in All About Flowers on Oct. 1, 2008.

Last night I found the contents of a garbage bag dragged along the back yard of my South London home, so I decided to catch the culprit tonight after his evening of celebrating. Just gone midnight young Brer Fox turned up. “Who me?” said his look and with a quiet pop he was immortalised by the Fox Paparazzi forever!
