http://www.sundrip.com/2008/08/09/eyes-like-a-river/ This is my very first completed oil painting. Until about a month ago I’d never used oils before. Sadly I was under the impression that oil was all hype. Boy have I seen the light. I think I’m in love. This is a scan of the original painting which is done on 1/4 inch think birchwood measuring 9 inches wide and 11 inches long. One of the details you are unable to see clearly is the gold accents above her eyes and on her lips. For purchase inquiry please contact me via the address on my sidebar at Sundrip.com

2009. Age 22. This little fella (hanging on that tree, having just snapped the branch) is called a Plar. He is a curious little creature, with big alluring eyes and a kind, gentle heart. He sees the world for what it truly is; a magical playground just itching to be explored. - Drawn with Blue biro pen only on Smooth bristal board. Plar Poem: Plar – Beautifully Blue

9×12 pastel on Sennelier la carte paper FEATURED IN PAINTED LADIES, PETS AND PEOPLE, FIRST THINGS, FEMININE INTENT, AND THE DIVINE FEMININE I had so much fun drawing Barbara, but it is a lot of work trying to do portraits. I needed to do something completely from my imagination. And of course I can’t call it Blackbird without linking to the song!
18×24 acrylic on canvas Thought it would be fun to do some goddesses in a kind of pop realism style. This is the Gnostic goddess, the feminine half of God and the mind of God, or the Divine Wisdom. 18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul. 9×12 pastel on Sennelier paper As humans we are always taking the spoils of nature without sharing or giving back to nature, but a fae should know better.
