A spiral weather vane or wind vane made of colorful strips of cloth and sprockets, is captured in a way that creates an abstract, yet only some parts are sharp to give the viewer an idea of the object and how it works. / CONSIDER THIS IMAGE AS A COMPANION! /

So much beauty can still be found in a flower that is starting to fade. This black eyed susan immediately caught my eye with all the wonderful autumn colors in its wilting petals. Photo taken in my garden – Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Note: Background was not digitally changed to black – that is the way the photo was taken :) FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST /
Last night I found the contents of a garbage bag dragged along the back yard of my South London home, so I decided to catch the culprit tonight after his evening of celebrating. Just gone midnight young Brer Fox turned up. “Who me?” said his look and with a quiet pop he was immortalised by the Fox Paparazzi forever! I’ve entered the word of layering images and it is SO MUCH FUN! After my first week of practice this is the first creation I felt was worthy of upload to RB. This work of art includes the combination of 2 images – a monarch butterfly, and a black-eyed susan. I enhanced the colors in 3 sections of the monarch’s wing to tie the colors in the composition together and purposely made the butterfly smaller than life. I have entered an entirely new world here and am excited at the possibilities that lie ahead as I search through my extensive collection of images for future works :o) / / Original floral image. / / FLORAL GALLERY / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST
I took this as part of a Fashion Photography assignment at school. Taken using natural light, with a diffuser held between the model and the sun to create the softer lighting. Photoshop has been used to manipulate the image. Nikon D200 – 18-200mm / 1/200th sec @ f/4.8 / ISO 100

I painted this over the past two days. Size, 30×40” or 101.6×76.2cm. / Predominantly an acrylic on canvas. Over the recent weeks I am enjoying painting more than ever, I think its because I have finally let go of the outcome and instead enjoy the process more. After all, there is no such thing as a mistake. Please visit me at my blog

What you see here is the first of seven works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) Here is a link to their page: / Silas’ smackdown #1 / Silas’ smackdown #2 / Angi’s smackdown (original handmade collage) /

Found this little Jumping Spider in the Gardens of the Botanical Gardens of Mt Tamborine, Queensland, Australia. Unsure of the exact species, one site has this one as “unknown” location Queensland, so I think it was it. Love their 8 eyes, they make great little hunters. 3mm in size, and very cute little guys :) Canon 5D Mk II, 65mm. Available Large, and best viewed Large!
/ / / original pencil drawing ...stayed up very late drawing “Nature’s Child”... you know when it’s time for a baby to be born, i think it’s very similar with art… the inspiration just comes when it’s ready…and sometimes that means drawing til 3am like i did with this one. ...the drawing took about 3 hours, and the digital colouring took about 5 hours today. ...inspired by some fantastic eyes i’ve seen lately, (drawn by people on RB) and the dear little willy wagtails…they are so cheeky…they aren’t authentic in colour here, because they are always black and white with little markings above the eye…but i have put their essence into the work hopefully. I think this is my favourite so far :) /
