Well this is the shot that made it into the 2008 channel ten weather calendar, so I’m pretty proud of that.Getting this into the calendar was my first… ‘public’ recognition of my work so this is a pretty special shot to me. it is lightning over Adelaide looking down from Mount Osmond. It was taken in December 2006 and featured on the following nights news broadcast.

This is one of the best gifts ever received by me from my dearest artist wife…she specially made this in charcoal as once i had bet with her that she cannot portray perfect expressions in black & white and on my very next birthday she presented with this masterpiece making me speachless for ever rolling my tears filled with aweee and amazment….it was sheer magic for me and i guess you guys too with agree with me here that she defenately did a comendable job with her inborn talents of making portraits….i m so proud of her and her art too..!!!! / My Feelings looking at this fantastic artwork NEVER CRY FOR ANY RELATION IN LIFE / BECAUSE FOR THE ONE WHOM YOU CRY / DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR TEARS / AND THE ONE WHO DESERVES / WILL NEVER LET YOU CRY…...... ......... This is a picture from my day job. The red balls are grass pollen, and the tubes from them are growing down into the flower to fertilise the ovary. To get ready for the photo took some serious effort to get the timing right, then use of chemicals to stain the pollen red, then actually get to the microscope to take the photo. After reading in the forums about the paths people have taken to become artists, and thinking of my desire to be one (as in, to be able to spend all my time on creative pursuits), I began to think about what skills I have already from my current path. My challenge was to find a creative application of those skills, because I’m not in a position to give up work. Yet :) I’ve been using photography to record my work for many years, so that was the first and most obvious answer. I just thought I’d throw that up for interest, as it’s not the sort of thing that you would want framed in your living room I’m sure LOL!
