You know somewhere has been derelict a long time when even the fire extinguishers have decayed to this level.
A Fire extinguisher lies discarded on the floor of the entrance to the Old Hall, under all the debris you can make out the pattern in the parquet flooring, such a shame it is left to rot away.
This is a color photo that was taken while out smoking on my back stairwell. I was cleaning up the debris of my habit when I noticed something. With a few minor and intentional placements of the cigarettes, the skull shape emerged. I really appreciate the truth of concepts that are related within the photo, the value contrast, and the variety of textures within the elements. It is an image that I am currently using on a mixed painting construction. It was taken in 2005.

In the Pergamon Museum in Berlin Mitte (Germany)... The Pergamon Museum (German: Pergamonmuseum) is among the museums on Museum Island in Berlin. The site was designed by Alfred Messel and Ludwig Hoffmann and was built from 1910 to 1930. The Pergamon houses original-sized, reconstructed monumental buildings such as the Pergamon Altar, the Market Gate of Miletus, and the Ishtar Gate, all consisting of parts transported from the original excavation sites. The museum is subdivided into the antiquity collection, the Middle East museum, and the museum of Islamic art. The museum is visited by approximately 850,000 people every year, making it the most visited art museum in Germany.

Snuffed out candle. Bit of a melancholy feel to this one….. makes me think about the loss of someone close. / Seperate exposures shot with Canon 5D and 24-70 f2.8L. Combined with Photoshop.
