  • In that brief moment as he gently caressed her skin she felt he was their, but it was all so unsure that she couldnt move, afraid if she turned he would be gone. She had been waiting for 18 months for his return from the war, with no messages, no letters, she thought him dead. She chose to remain still and except his love and warmth even in that…Brief Moment In Time.

  • From drizzle to drowning. From dawn to middle of the night dreams that wake me up with a “pow.” That’s it. The answer. Then in the morning the drift falls from a darkened hollow into swirls of vapor and across a seaweed forest. My pencil scrapes. My brush strokes. Awaken. Awake to dream again. A struggle to find an answer that is forgotten in the effort to do do do what I think I must must must and drive myself crazy trying to escape. To sleep on my feet in a daydream of forest palms towering over and pools of languid, blue, mirrors instead of piles of dirty laundry. Or maybe it is all really the same. / The answer laying in the soft white shift of a sheet from a drier in sunlight and waving at the light’s own laughter at the sun. / acrylic on fabric. about 4 ft x 7 ft not stretched. • Recently discovered, the planet commonly referred to as Fast Lane has a collection of huge continents that all orbit the planet’s core inside the atmosphere; some of the more porous rock orbits higher and even more rapidly than the more dense strata, but all move the same direction constantly and at a very high rate of speed. This one is more than 2 kilometers above the water, traveling at over 700 kilometers per hour, which makes it very risky to try to study in detail, and no one has successfully landed on any of them to see if any residents come out to say hello. Scientists disagree as to whether these are made structures or naturally shaped so strangely. This is LJ Maxx’s fractal that I converted to a terraine object in Vue: And here is her original, repeated X-4:

  • Rain drizzled though crystals of mountain air. Clear, cold, clean. It seemed as if the air and water blended together seamlessly. I stepped over wet rock, through damp, glistening foliage. I pull aside a branch with glowing blue petals to focus on the lake. The harder I tried to see clearly the more blurred my vision became and suddenly I was seeing the landscape as a blank canvas. Memories paraded across the hillsides, swam through the sparkles on water, and danced in the mist. / Reality merged with memory. Time stood still. Rainy Memory is acrylic, Gesso and ink on card stock paper 15”x20” Sept. 2009. Abstract landscape from memory of Oregon / /

  • A fringe of rain fell like a curtain over the distant evergreen studded hillside. Or was it distant? I felt the closeness of wet foliage and soft flowing waves of the lake. It all connected in liquid light moving together as a soft cloud of time folded over still silence. Then broken by a cheery bark or a far off laugh. I feel as if this was once the way the planet was. Once the way humans lived. Connected to each other, water, plants, rocks, and time. Flowing on a single smooth circle. Never broken. Dusted by Blue is acrylic on paper 15”x20” abstract landscape inspired by the mountains near Bend Oregon

  • Magical and Expressive painting inspired by my love of fairy tales and mythology. Original is acrylic and genuine 24k gold leaf on canvas.

  • I wanted to be out and as soon as I was I wanted to be in. The air was oppressive and still with silent heat and heavy glances and eyes that looked away to the hills, as mine did. There was a sinking white ball of light that is called the sun behind the gray hillside and the flour dusted buildings of the city. I turn and see tree bark glowing in the shadow and behind it a dozen people ducking and jolting along the path. Are the faces meant to be remembered or forgotten or are we all the same. Syrup of souls flowing into one another. / I reach the top and realize it isn’t a top at all. Looking down I feel the sharp shift of space grind to a halt for a second with my brain capturing one second of thick emotion to be cast off the hill yet remembered later. / Then gone and it is a day only a day only a night only a second only an eternity. Not lost, not forgotten, simply being here and now. Forgetting the future. / Late Afternoon is 15”x20” acrylic on paper
