It’s amazing how many posters can be stuck to a telephone pole. you would never know it until you cut away a square section and paint a red dot on it. / “dot” was featured in the group Textures. “Dot” was featured in The Feature Fraternity
The sun in Asakusa, Japan. The famous for the Sensō-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon. It is Tokyo’s oldest temple. According to legend, a statue of the Kannon was found in the Sumida River in 628 by two fishermen, the brothers Hinokuma Hamanari and Hinokuma Takenari. The chief of their village, Hajino Nakamoto, recognized the sanctity of the statue and enshrined it by remodeling his own house into a small temple in Asakusa, so that the villagers could worship the Kannon. The blessings of the Kannon gradually received a high reputation throughout Japan, and people near and far flocked to Asakusa to venerate the statue. During World War II, the temple was bombed and for the most part destroyed. It was rebuilt later and is a symbol of rebirth and peace to the Japanese people. In the courtyard there is a tree that was hit by a bomb in the air raids, it had regrown in the husk of the old tree and is a similar symbol to the temple itself. Just an intentionally underexposed shot done in black and white. /
Spires in Arches National Park – Utah USA tour 2008 Please view large This area preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches as well as many other unusual rock formations. In some areas, the forces of nature have exposed millions of years of geologic history. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world. / I took this shot after a fall down a hill, my wide angle lens took the brunt but survived thankfully although the polarizer was a little worse for wear. Limping, bleeding and rather scarred I throughly enjoyed my hike around this area. Moral of the story look before you shoot !!! Hope you enjoy the view :) WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

I was walking around the neighborhood last fall, looking for something to image when i came across this scene. The chair that was placed near some trash bins by a long abandoned government building. The light was just right and the texture of the scene really grabbed me. / “Alone” was featured in the group Rusty, Crusty and Falli… / “Alone” was featured in the group Live, Love, Dream / “Alone” was featured in Still Life Photography
I think this image is something of an optical illusion. to me, it appears to bulge out, even though it’s concave. you decide.

Rough seas in 1893 washed the “SS Dicky” ashore, and like an iceberg, is mostly covered by sand these days. After several days of rough seas again the last few days, most of that sand has been washed away, and she is exposed again. This photo taken about the middle of an incoming tide, the seas were 5 metres (about 15 feet). My lens got a nice soaking during this shoot, and I almost lost my footing (and camera) to the swell.. Canon 50D, 10mm. “SS Dicky” Dicky Beach, Sunshine Coast, QLD.
