  • This little carnivorous plant is a character in a story I made up one day. She’s was first created in Cinema4D, a 3d modelling program. / Who knew that redrawing her in illustrator would take so long!!! Her favourite food is space travellers but when they’re not available, is just as happy to munch on the flies of her home planet, Venus. She’s also starring in 2 artworks with Origami Man…

  • With the global economy caught in the gravity of the financial crisis, it’s sad that programs like the Constellation Project will have a long wait before anything truly gets off the ground. / / NASA’s Constellation Project is set up to finish the International Space Station, retire the Shuttle Fleet and build a whole new fleet of space vehicles which will take us back to the Moon, then Mars and then the places beyond. / / But with Congressional limitations and funding cutbacks due to the financial crisis, as well as being stuck with a complicated and restrictive “go as you pay” finance structure it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing any groundbreaking manned space flights in the naughties. / / This image represents a fleeting memory of a childhood dream to see man explore our planets and then the stars beyond and it’s one of the few things as a child I looked up to America for. / / The universe is a big place and we’re yet to make it out of our solar system but without programs like the Constellation Project, man may never ever get to make another giant leap. / / DETAIL / / / /

  • As I made my ( transitional ) drive from my future back to my past today, I listened to the Alien sounds of the album Oxygene. / From the master himself, Jean Michel Jarre. It is a sound for Earthly ears, with a message from the cosmos, to me its about the search for a new home on another world by a race that as destroyed the one they were given. The search is long and time passes slowly, the new worlds must have the thing we as a species need “Oxygene” / So their search across space may go on for eternity, for they say ” you can never go home again”. / And even when you find that other world, it still is not “home”. So I suppose MY message is…........... ’ Think about what we as a race are doing to our home world, do we really want to have to travel the stars for all eternity, searching for something we already have?................think! I wanted to create an image of what their home world was like before its destruction. So I created this one and called it “Oxygene”

  • As we look at the scene before us, we see many lights in the sky. / And since man first walked upon this Earth, he as always wondered what they were, those lights in the night sky. / Has he became more aware through technological advances, he sort of understood what they could be. / And even to this day he still wonders, what hides in the great blue yonder. It draws us forever to explore the vast unseen, we know the substance of it, its there before our eyes. / But what do those lights in the sky really hide from our eyes. They hide the….... Substance – of things not seen This is my entry into the challenge ” The Substance of things not seen” And of course for me it would be about the void beyond this Earth. And featured in *First Things / and Images & Ideas

  • In the far northern hemisphere of Saturn’s moon Titan, lies the future city of Ringsview. That beyond our atmosphere lies our future Of course to do that, humanity as first to put an end to war, and step into the future with one mind, as one people. / To take the human race to the stars, to explore the lights we have looked at in the heavens for thousands of years. • Art over the centuries as boldly gone where no art as gone before! Art as evolved with leaps and bounds, it as crossed a great many mediums. And it had to happen, here we have the planet Epsilon-Epsilon. The planet was purchased by one individual for the sole purpose of creating a work of art. The planet as thousands of cities and towns, all built as different architectual art forms, they are not populated, in fact there are no beings that live on the whole planet. / There is a reception center on the largest moon, the “tours” can take anywhere from 1 to 10 years to complete. The artist know as *Alienvisitor plans to purchase the entire solar system and all 13 of its planets, so one day the system itself will become the art form. This is but a small sample of said art…...the city of Flight, the architecture here is based on but not exact of his *Cities in Flight Series. Featured in Images & Ideas Group 25/07/09
