The Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road
The Twelve Apostles
This is one of the main temples in Vang Vien, Laos. The temple buildings are beautifully ornate and the surrounding garden is peaceful. On this day however, a number of the monks were busy conducting repairs on the building and, the younger ones especially, were scouting in and out of the windows and up and down the ladder as part of their work. They held a group of us captivated, cameras in hand, with their cheeky expression and playful teasing. I loved the strong contrast of the orange robe against the pink building – I think the colours capture the playfulness of the atmosphere even more than the monk’s expression in this case.

Impressive storm forming above Makena beach in Maui
One of the most beautiful beach in Maui.
Howler monkey on the banks of the Rio Cano Negro in northern Costa Rica enjoying a tasty leaf for lunch.
One thing I learned a long time ago is when concentrating on an image, don’t forget to look behind you. I was busy photographing fishing boats at the opposite end of the beach and when I turned around I saw this beautiful light as a sudden rain squall approached. I, literally, snapped the image and then ran for cover as the rain pelted down. Taken with Nikon D100 and 12-24 lens. Featured in Sea group, Going Coastal and Featured Features groups.

Not much is known about the Asian Golden Cat. It is a rather elusive predator, and most of what is known about it has been found out in captivity. The Asian Golden Cat lives throughout Southeast Asia, ranging from Tibet and Nepal to Southern China, India, and Sumatra. It prefers forest habitats interspersed with rocky areas, and is found in deciduous, subtropical evergreen, and tropical rainforests. The Asian Golden Cat is occasionally found in more open terrain. It ranges from the lowlands to altitudes of up to 3000 meters in the Himalayas. The exact population of the Asian Golden Cat is unknown. It is hunted for its fur and, increasingly, for its bones in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the greatest risk posed towards the species is habitat destruction. There are few of these felines in zoos, and they do not breed well in captivity. If you would like to buy a card, print or poster just go to ‘buy/preview’

Angkor Wat in Cambodia is a magical place. Although I had to get up very very early to shoot this, it was worth every minute. It is always inconvenient to carry a tripod when backpacking but scenes like this remind you how important it is to bring one along.
natural design is definitely a favorite subject for me . Hope you enjoy . Captures take in fort Myers, waters, Florida USA . Florida has so many great places to paddle. No state can match its variety of water – lakes, inlets, lagoons, rivers, streams, springs, ocean and a gulf – accessible 365 days a year! And, there seems no better way to explore this vast network of water than by canoe. It’s easy to cast away your cares and find peace and relaxation among Florida’s matchless beauty – there’s nothing like the quiet of Mother Nature to soothe and give you a fresh outlook on things. An added bonus is the many opportunities to see wildlife along the way – white and blue herons, turtles, alligators, and sandhill cranes to name a few. So, pack a picnic and test your spirit of adventure… discover the “real” Florida. Almost 50 of Florida’s State Parks permit canoing, with over half of those offering equipment rentals, so no matter where you are in the state, chances are you are close to water. Here are some of the more popular locations for setting out on your adventure… source of info
