Matron’s just let me try one of the new prototypes. simper The specification is truly splendid. They’re meant to keep my knees from shrinking, keep my ear wax production in check and (this is the bit I’m most excited about) prolong that feeling you get after taking one of the pink and yellow pills. I can hardly wait. dribble looks at dosage advice on the side of the crate "Adults should take 37, every hour. To be taken with weak lemon drink. Failure to drink weak lemon drink may result in elbow itching. Do not eat. May contain nuts." Nothing out of the ordinary then. Splendid.
This weekend I did something very very silly…. / I took my new camera on a jet ski in a plastic container (i.e not waterproof housing) and got some snaps of Port Phillip Bay. We only nearly fell of the jet ski, hmmm…. repeatedly. I hope it was worth it! Thanks to my Jetski driver and all round relaxing company James

Lake Dumbleyoung in Western Australia. Holding the land speed record, Donald Campbell then broke another speed record over the surface of this inland lake. He was the fastest man on land and water but the lake later took his life.

Some exciting news for those who prefer cotton as their canvas. We’ve just launched a brand new t-shirt competition with a prize so awesome, you’ll be desperate get your ink-stained mitts on it. The lovely folks at London street wear store Demo have fallen for the charms of the talented RedBubble t-shirt designers and they’ve asked us to run another design competition. So we’ve cranked up the random theme generator and we think it’s come up with a winner. The theme is ‘Sound’. That’s right, the stuff you can hear. It’s is open to wide interpretation so you could choose to cover anything from music through to cochlear implants. Demo head honcho Christian has volunteered to put on his Simon Cowell hat and pull his strides up nice and high and he’ll be picking a winner from a shortlist chosen by the community. If you’d like the chance to get your t-shirt design in the front window of Demo then head on over here for all the details. The winning t-shirts from our last comp are just about to go into the shop. We’ll be doing a post covering all the excitement, laughter and tears of joy direct from Carnaby Street shortly. In the meantime, dig out your finest art supplies and get designing. Nat
I used to love collecting these plastic eggs (they can be handy as back massagers!) I folded this bird while RB was “enjoying a brief hiatus” today, from a 15×15mm piece of paper that I colored with a gold pen; didn’t want to get too small otherwise I would need a smaller egg. I stuck the tail to the inside of the egg shell with double sided tape. Here’s to a moment of excitement when opening a little present! For a better understandind of scale: / This work has been featured in: / Stillness Speaks / Weekly Theme Challenges Works by Category / Featured/Popular / Origami/Ori-plastic / Drawings,Paintings and Graphics / Flowers, Trees and Plants / Water and Waterscapes / Scenery / Light, Shadow, and Reflections / Living Creatures / Human Portrait / Japanfluence / Canada / Still Life More sample origami: For more images please visit the category links at the top

No matter how many times I have been to the State Fair, some rides are as timeless as the Ferris Wheel. This is one such ride. Taken a few days ago, this image could have been taken back in the 1960s.

The anticipation and excitement of a little boy five days before the arrival of his new baby sister.
The original is 30” x 24” acrylic on stretched canvas. Look into the center. Take a deep breath in. Hold it…. and then let it out.. Relax your vision and breath deeply. For some, you will see the flames move and burn.
This one is not in the charity series. I took it at Port Melbourne because I thought it served as a great analogy for adventure. It captured the last moment of contact with the known before leaping off into the unknown.
This is the Temple Church in Bristol. / Temple Church is so-called because the original church was built by the Knights Templar. The Templars, a society of soldier-monks, was formed during the time of the Crusades to defend the Holy Sepulchre and guard pilgrims travelling to Jerusalem. They had been granted land across the Avon from Bristol by Robert, Earl of Gloucester in the mid-12th Century. HDR and colour work in PS. Comments welcome! Thanks, / Al

Ok guys so it’s Christmas. It’s my turn to say thanks to everyone on RB who’s supported me with great comments this year and especially those who’ve bought stuff from my folio. I can now officially say between RB and a US based site I am more than half way towards paying for a nurse to be trained for one year with HEAL Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Which is awesome. Keep buying though, we’re on the downhill run!! / Some of you might know I was profiled in a brilliant photographic magazine called / Photo Review Australia Well Don Norris the Editor has asked me to nominate another bubbler who deserves an article to be written about them and their craft. We are talking at least two pages of a national magazine! / The pressure’s too much there’s too many good artists here…so…. / here’s the deal… / It’s a competition. / I want you to post your one best photo here and a one or two paragraph story about it. Where it is, what it’s of. Why it means so much to you. That sorta stuff. Then I’m going to get Don to choose who he wants to interview. He will conduct the interview via Skype next week. / Guys Photo Review Australia is a great magazine. It takes photography and photographers seriously. It’s the best there is in this country (IMHO). They have a website if you’d like to check ‘em out. / So go for it. / National coverage! There will be runners up prizes too, once we work out what they are :) / All I ask in return is you look at my folio and if you like anything buy it!! All African shots proceeds to the mighty HEAL Africa!!!!!!!! You could be like the brilliant Giselle who very kindly and generously bought a calendar this morning. ON YA GISELLE!!!! And chuck in a prayer for HEAL Africa this Christmas. I got an email yesterday. It’s getting more and more dangerous. The staff have been told they are allowed to leave if they want. ALL of them continue to work with the public and militia in an attempt to introduce peace. / Thanks to RB too for letting me run this on the site.
Taking a mini-break from doing zombie shirts I decided to put up something a little bit different, and much less interesting seeing as I first posted this art weeks ago. Lay off, I’m busy. Anyway it’s the pumpkin hair guy shirt! Yay! Awesome! Fantastic! Superb! Alright! Ya! Whoo-Hoo! Area ll the “exciting” words making you excited yet? Ya, me neither.
