New note 13 October 2009: Got back a few minutes ago from a prize giving for a local photography competition for photos representing “life is always a pleasure in Buffalo City” as I was one of the 13 finalists out of nearly 200 entries – and they chose me as the overall winner! My boys running into the Gonubie river, East London, South Africa, last year when they were still 9 and 10. / The tide was coming in and they were having fun cooling down after a school day, and before their karate lesson. Autumn is a lovely warm season in South Africa.

Source of this image is a digital photo I took in 2005 with my then new Canon A610 Powershot camera… The image’s colours were massaged in Paint Shop Pro Paint X2 via the Topaz-Adjust plugin. I then ran Fractalius to get a sketchy look and applied a texture via Paint Shop…. Cheers Kenmo

This is my very first excercise of digital painting with GIMP following this tutorial / I made some changes because I made ( a lot of) mistakes LOL, so I hid them using the tree brushes on the right side, the rest it was using the mouse pad. (it means I have all the credit) *-)) I have to confess I never heard of digital painting before joining RB and I was curious, so I gave it a try and here is the result,. Feel free to write WHATEVER YOU WANT. I don’t mind at all, even if you don’t like it, it’ll be fun to read it. Thank you for stopping by *-))
