Lava Road Runners were popular, tough shoes. These volcanic masterpieces lasted generations, but they were a bit of a drag in the sprint races.

saw this concept in play somewhere but i couldn’t remember when or where. / Thought it would make cool t-shirt. Never saw it like that. / So here it is!

This was a work I did for an exhibit held by Illustrators Australia. / I think if eyeballs grew legs they would go through this evolution. / This was an ink drawing that I coloured in Photoshop. For the actual exhibit, I printed it on canvas and mounted it on wood.

February 2008 (This is a slightly larger version than the other versions in my gallery.) In honour of Charles Darwin, biologist, naturalist, adventurer. Evolution by natural selection is one of the most powerful discoveries we humans are capable of and the simple rules have led to such beautiful biodiversity. This image is available in many forms, and a portion of the profits goes in support of The Beagle Project, an ambitious scientific and educational re-creation of the original ship that took Darwin on his historic voyage. A piece of experimental typography based around the concept of evolution. It represents the mutations that occurred due to the hydrothermal vents underwater, which some theorists believe created the suitable environment for the origin of life.

In the murky, still waters of the northern hemisphere of the planet, Thallifreon, we see, for illustration purposes, in the same visual, three evolutionary stages of the now-extinct Nemanovathrydd worm. / Yes a worm. And a parasitic one at that. Firstly, the Pre-Cambrian then the Cambrian and, finally, the octopus-like (and very nasty should you be bitten by one), Jurassic model. But as I have said they disappeared with the Jurassic. Sounds a little like Earth doesn’t it. Well it’s not. / In all seriousness, this was contrived with the help of GroBoto and Photoshop. A gum tree (in the background believe it or not) appears (and was not harmed during the making of this picture) courtesy of myself .

My cat Mizuki, which means “Beautiful moon” in Japanese as she was pure white, she just vanished one day sadly… hopefully she just didn’t suffer wherever she went. I’m just glad I got some good photos of her before she left. R.I.P
