The second in the series of Moon shots. This one is a small lake in the Gnoll park local to where I livein Neath. Again I used lots of saturation and dodge to get the vivid colour and gradients over the sky to turn day into night. The moon I added using layers this time as I wanted it behind the trees. Hope you like it. / /
Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

Jyväskylä, Finland. / I used Cokin’s graduated tobacco filter for the sky..
This is a photo of my wife’s silouette taken during our last vacation (road trip) in the US which in this case is in Death Valley. We had just arrived at the first view point to enjoy a pretty spectaculor view and my wife sat down on the beach and well, there you have it. /
I was walking around Omotesando and Harajuku to kill some time before meeting a friend the other night and found this patch of cosmos flowers. Planted out in the street, behind them were the lights of a shop and a vending machine was providing some light from my side. Just beautiful. Got mesmerised for a good fifteen minutes by these flowers. Nikon D300 / 85mm f/1.4 AF D

One of the creepiest sunsets we’ve ever seen here … neighbors still talk about it. It started out an eerie yellow and changed the look of the world. By the time I shot this particular image, the clouds and sky had lost the sickly yellow and were a more familiar orange. Clouds and storm came in from the east which is unusual for this area … this shot was taken facing due south. I was using the Nikon D40x with the 18-135mm lens. Shot April 12, 2008 in Montgomery County, Maryland. Obsidian Dawn

Sunset at the Curracurrang, just south of Wattamolla, Royal National Park. This is a wild and very rugged section of the Park with amazing rock formations and striations, none of which you can see here because it’s late dusk. But this evening had one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve seen here in the Park. I don’t know why but good sunsets here are few and far between but when they come – carumba! / The sea wash looked pearl-like against an opalescent sky with the cliffs stringing in between like a necklace. Whoops, waxing lyrical, better stop. Two blended exposures – one for the sky and one for everything else. Taken with the old Canon 30D / Tv: 1.6secs and 1/4sec / Av: f/8 / ISO: 100 / FL: 28mm
