Tonight’s sunset over the Gulf of Mexico, New Port Richey, Florida-7-18-08. there was a soft breeze comming off of the Gulf that made the evening air feel & smell so sweet. I can NEVER get enough of the miracle of a sunset!

this evening primrose only opens it’s blooms in the evening hours, just as dusk starts this flower will open itself up, it will stay blooming until the early morning sun starts to hit it. my neighbor across the street brought this to my attention the other day while out walking the dog. its really cool to watch it open up as the light slowly fades on it. / this was actually taken at dusk, almost night time, so i lowered my shutterspeed some (since there was no wind) and upped my ISO to 800, F-stop was at 4.0

collage, watercolour and ink on paper / arches smooth watercolour paper with tissue and newspaper collage, painted with winsor and newton watercolour and black fineliner. the texture of the crumpled and torn papers was integral to this work which needed the support of the strong arches paper to hold all the washes and glue.
