  • There are many dozens of different cherry tree varieties, most of which bloom for just a couple of days in spring.

  • The Night-blooming Cereus, Scientific name Epiphyllum oxypetalum, only blooms at night, and lasts for one night only. Therefore it is often used as a metaphor to describe fleeting things. The chinese words translate to: / “You are like a night-blooming Cereus appearing for just a moment, and disappearing before my eyes like a snowflake.” Comments and critiques are welcome. Thank you.

  • So this came about because of the Evanescence song Imaginary, which is a weird song but one that has some kind of cool imagery in it. None of which is really pictured here apart from the purple sky. >.> Well…and the origami flowers…though in the song its a field of paper flowers. But whatever. The fact is that 99% of the art inspired by this song has some random girl laying in a field of decidedly not paper flowers. It’s annoying. I wanted to be different so we get a conglomeration of odd stuff all thrown in together. This is the sort of thing I dream about—all that’s missing are the zombies and singing penguins. :)

  • Amy Lee, lead singer of Evanescence, at UMass Amherst 12/7/07

  • Its just a bit of colour, kind of background music only visual instead of sound. Meant to brighten up a dull corner quietly if you know what I mean. Well its all in the title. Be happy. /

  • Featured In Core Group / ©Angi Baker / SEE & VIEW MUSIC HERE / This is another collaboration by myself and petmagent that I did, I hope you enjoy. / How it was done: Using Photoshop I used petmagnets sky shot and also the model shot, I first took the sky shot and added a flood filter and then I cut some of the models shot out and then layered it onto the sky shot, bringing back the opacity on the model to make a blend… I’m so tired of being here / Suppressed by all my childish fears / And if you have to leave / I wish that you would just leave / Your presence still lingers here / And it won’t leave me alone These wounds won’t seem to heal / This pain is just too real / There’s just too much that time cannot erase When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears / When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears / And I held your hand through all of these years / But you still have / All of me You used to captivate me / By your resonating light / Now I’m bound by the life you left behind / Your face it haunts / My once pleasant dreams / Your voice it chased away / All the sanity in me These wounds won’t seem to heal / This pain is just too real / There’s just too much that time cannot erase When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears / When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears / And I held your hand through all of these years / But you still have / All of me I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone / But though you’re still with me / I’ve been alone all along When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears / When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears / And I held your hand through all of these years / But you still have / All of me / Inspired By: Evanescence

  • This is a single exposure in which I triggered the strobes 2 times. The blurry aftermath was from ambient light in the room. I shot this in my dorm with one light on her face and one light on her hair on a black background. Editing consisted of a lot of levels adjustments and bw conversion using the calculations method with a blue filter. I used these to play up the textures in her skin and hair. I am very happy with how this came out. It took a ton of tries and luck.

  • Like the delicate colourful blossoms of spring that come and go so quickly, our stay here is transitory. It’s the life experience…to blossom, flourish, eventually fade, grow frail and above all, deeply sense the shortening of time. Still, its a rich opportunity like no other. “For age is opportunity / No less than youth itself, / Though in another dress, / And as the evening twilight fades away, / The sky is filled with stars, / Invisible by day.” ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow THIS WORK HAS BEEN FEATURED IN: IMAGE-WRITING /
