  • Tree lined streets driving to Pont Du Gard in South France

  • I took this photograph while visiting my family in Switzerland. This is my aunt’s orchard, during one of those long, foggy winters when everything seems perpetually covered in hoarfrost. Treated in photoshop. Unfortunately, I took this before I upgraded to a Canon Rebel, so it’s low res and only available as a card here on RB, though I’ve successfully enlarged it to a 5×7.

  • A Summer landscape in Holland

  • matted print / available as cards /

  • London, UK I usually walk along the south bank riverside in London.. and l passed by this place maybe a thousand times ! This time for some reason l was walking very slowly.. once I got here l just thought this could be the moment to take a nice picture.. I am happy with the result ! / / - / Click to view

  • On a damp and misty April morning in the beautiful Tywi Valley in South Wales, these trees appeared out of the mist. I toned the image for effect. Scanned at 4000 dpi from black and white film on a Nikon Coolscan V ED.

  • A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.

  • Labyrinths have always had a magical and slightly daunting effect on me. Possibly influenced by the David Bowie / Jennifer Connelly 80s movie. Walking around in the walls of a labyrinth, you have lost all your friends, but can still hear them in the distance, somewhere. Not sure where you are or where you are going, you stumble across an open area, an old forest. You see a makeshift burrow, made out of old stones, looks like it’s been there for hundreds of years. As you get closer, you hear soft whimpering coming from within. As you get to the old wooden door, you can clearly hear a child crying inside. That’s when you hear the growling behind you… Taken in Prague, along an old overgrown path, on the way to the hill that overlooks the whole city. I clearly remember looking at this and having a small shiver. • London, November 20003 ! taken originally with F75 28-100mm

  • A scene I have often passed by, but either the light was wrong, or I didn’t have the time. / On this occasion, things fell into place, except for the fact that I had left my tripod at home !! DOH !! (on a shopping trip for provisions to Fort William !) / It is a hand-held three shot hdr, because of the extreme lighting. / Loch Lochy is reputed to have a “monster” like Loch Ness ! Shot on my Canon EOS50D, iso 100, auto wb, three RAW’s at -2EV, +2EV,0EV, hand held braced against a bush for added stability, Canon 17-85mm IS lens set at 53mm, f11, processed in Photomatix, then Adobe CS3, with colour adjustments, and more selective levels / curves. • Notre Dame, Paris, captial city of France. The last in my Notre Dame series. I created six versions of this shot, trying different textures, colours and layers, but this was the first one that moved toward a theme or emotion that I wanted. It feels quite lonely and stripped of hope to me, but I’m sure it will have varied meaning to the individual. Featured in Cityscapes & City Skylines 8 layers of texture from www.deviantart.com free use stock – Amurrr. Lightened each layer, adjusted hue and colour levels, blended each with 3 layers of the photo, one b&w, one colour and one desaturated. Flattened image and further colour tweaking and adjusting.
