  • This week sees the 1 year anniversary of my website www.grahamettridge.blogspot . To celebrate this, I decided to treat myself to a little cake :) I hope the next 12 months are equally enjoyable and educational.

  • Red Rose

  • Pink Rose in Black & White

  • White Rose in Black & White

  • A scene from the wonderful film of Wizard of Oz, built in sand.

  • Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 3.2 kilometres (2.0 miles) west of Amesbury and 13 kilometres (8.1 miles) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous prehistoric sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. Archaeologists believe that the iconic stone monument was erected around 2500 BC, however this was not the first stone structure on the site. The surrounding circular earth bank and ditch, which constitute the earliest phase of the monument, have been dated to about 3100 BC. Recent studies have shown some the earthworks here date back as far as 8000 BC.

  • A scene from a toy stall at a craft market in Hyde Park, London, England. No matter how old I get, I still can’t help feeling excited when I see something like this. We are all children at heart.

  • A wonderful stroll through Savernake forest on an early Autumn morning.

  • A selection of photographs taken in Savernake Forest, Wiltshire, England. There is nothing in the world that is more magical than wandering through the undergrowth of a forest on a cold and misty autumnal morning – The wonderful sights of the animals scurrying around; the precious golden leaves crunching under foot, and the mesmorising scent of the wet grass. This calendar holds a small selection of magical moments from my wanderings through this enchanted land. I hope you enjoy! Graham Ettridge

  • There is nothing more pure and precious than a single red rose…... ...now all I need to do is find somebody to give it too….........

  • A photo taken whilst taking a stroll along the river in the university city of Oxford, in England. The air was crisp, the sun was golden and the day was just perfect.

  • They say Manhattan is a city that never sleeps. As I watched the sun set over the horizon, I experienced the most amazing sensory overload as the magic of the bustling daytime transformed into a magical parlour of glistening lights sparkling in the darkness. The city took on a whole new personality…....

  • One of my favourite views from the whole of my trip to New York. The bright lights between the skyscrapers is Time Square. This photograph was taken from the top of the Rockefeller building. I took the ride up in the elevator expecting to see an amazing view, but nothing had prepared me for the true spectacular of the Manhattan skyline. I went up late in the afternoon and was immediately transfixed and remained at the top until 9.30pm. Seeing the transformation from daytime to night time in the city that never sleeps has to be one of the most memorable things that I have ever experienced. This photograph was taken without a tripod at around 9pm on a wonderful June evening.

  • “You can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead!” ~ Stan Laurel

  • Amazingly, I have only just discovered the Orton technique…. So, where has it been all my life I wonder? A whole new world has opened up for me! This photograph is of a red door taken in a small cobbled street in a quaint village in Portugal on a summer’s day. There is so much that attracted me to this door, not only the colours and the aged wood and stone, but also the wonder of what the door has seen in its life.

  • A photograph taken of a gnarled old tree in the middle of Savernake forest in Wiltshire, England early in the Autumn. The colours of the leaves and the fern are still deep and golden. This photograph captures all the reasons of why Autumn is my favourite season.

  • It is amazing how something as simple as a fallen tree can be so beautiful. Sometimes it just takes a second to stop and look around with open eyes, to see what beauty there is around us. This photograph was taken in Savernake forest, in Witshire, England on a beautiful autumn morning.

  • I had to get down and dirty for this one. A photograph taken laying down in the undergrowth of the forest floor, whilst watching the sun rise through the canopy of the trees (savernake forest, England)

  • We all have a path that leads somewhere. We just need to follow it with a warm heart.
