Hello bubble friends, Long time I didn’t upload a real portrait…. I took this time a couple of days ago in Eritrea in the school where we were organizing our art activities. / Some people call them the “ninjas”. Some people throw them stones while they are dressed like that… some people do throw them stones or spit on them when they uncover their faces…. In what world do we leave ? / Just leave the woman alone ! Leave the children alone ! Set them free…. Give them a voice !!! it is what Art in All of Us (www.artinallofus.org) modestly try to do !

Portrait of a young Maasai woman, Ngornongoro, Tanzania. From an original pastel painting by Angela Drysdale
The first girl drawn for LADAGIRLS. Shes the official face for the series. The story: / One day I felt inspired and sat down with photoshop and my trusty wacom tablet, not really knowing what I was going to draw. I started sketching women for some reason, all shapes, all colours and ’ Rosette ‘ just materialized out of nowhere. What happened after that was a total surprise. I got this amazing reaction from the Artistic community online and off towards her. People wrote comments about her, others started emailing me asking me if I sold prints of her…the rest is history. LADAGIRLS was officially born February 28th / I plan to keep expanding the series, as I’m having immense fun exploring these women and their personalities. I hope you all enjoy them just as much.
My greeting when I visited a Masai village alone. They were wonderful people, I will never forget them. / The light was very intense, and highlighted the vivid colours of their colourful costumes. Many of them still observe the old customs and maintain the traditional way of life.
