I was in the affluent suburb in Beverly Hills and noticed adjacent to expensive boutiques, stores and high rent offices was an untended botanical garden. I was not familar with the kinds of plants, but knew many were dying and the contrast of this neglected garden with the opulance of Rodeo Drive and well groomed people was striking. It looked like an alien landscape, but it quickly transcended in my mind to a visual feast of color, texture, light and became an imaginative delight. I hope you enjoy my magical interpretation of what was once a botanical paradise. This is a photo of one of the old trees. sparce with wonderful form highlighted by the enveloping clouds. It was a cold and crisp day and as sundown came upon us as the misty clouds gave way to a spectacular sunset. This particular tree had a spiritual essence with the central figure’s arms raised towards the heavens. Sally Omar’s poetry adds another dimension to the “spirit tree.” She infuses her beautiful and elegant spirit with words to pair this image with her lovely and beautiful writing. They wait very patiently / Arms wrapped around SPIRIT TREE / Somberly they are there / They can’t go anywhere / Souls that are left and cannot retrieve / Anything that they believed / Will they ever be let free / From the beautiful SPIRIT TREE / An Angel with wings of gold / Will come ever so bold / And grab their hands / And bring them to Spiritland / There they will again / Walk with old friends / And find a resting spot / Something they had forgot / When you pass the SPIRIT TREE / Remember none are free / This may be the place where you will go / No one ever knows / And should you be one day be there / You will have to say a prayer / So the Angel will come for you / And fly you to Spiritland too / SPIRIT TREE /

I’ve always wanted to capture a close-up snowflake. This may be an ugly one but I’m proud of it anyways. I love the bokeh in this! Natural colors :) This was shot on the fibers of a elastic band that had blue and black stripes on it :) Canon Digital Rebel 450D XSi / 60mm + 68mm of extension tubes + Canon MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite Needless to say, my set up looks pretty badass!

In this piece I depict myself fully at one highest peak. Fully grown and uprooted from the ground , no longer being over looked, stepped on and struggling to stay alive. I now have a chance to breathe, to live, to thrive….This is the state I want to grow into one day I’m still uprooting myself at the moment….hope you like. done in graphite on 8.5×11 paper
A cross-section of me: rectangular boxes extending in all directions ad infinitum. If you close your eyes you can see them, but they are not there. Made out of the subtle substance of faith they have at the core the sphere of passion gently painted with love. And no matter where you’ll slice this structure, you’ll see the same picture. This is the hologram of my soul. Of course, don’t believe a word of what I say. / Instead have faith. / After all, you’re swimming in it. / As we speak. Australian Aboriginal performer playing the didgeridoo. Original image taken in Darling Harbour, Sydney – texture layers added to help portray a part of the essence and spirit of Australia. / Candid Shot / Texture layers – my own, plus free from CGTextures The didgeridoo is played with continuously vibrating lips to produce the drone while using a special breathing technique called circular breathing. This requires breathing in through the nose whilst simultaneously expelling stored air out of the mouth using the tongue and cheeks. By use of this technique, a skilled player can replenish the air in their lungs, and with practice can sustain a note for as long as desired. 10 DIDGERIDOO FACTS / (From the aboriginalart.com.au website) / 1. Possibly the world’s oldest musical instrument / 2. A wind instrument originally found in Arnhem Land, Northern Australia. / 3.
