  • The Maiden, The Mother and The Crone From the original acrylic on 100cm x 100cm canvas. I started this mandala the week before one of my close girl friends was diagnosed with lung cancer and finished four months later – the week after she died. It was a hugely cathartic work and the three phases of the goddess reflect the changes in me over the years. I have been the warrior maiden; mothered my child and finally, have entered into the crone phase of my life… Bright Blessings to all:) all rights reserved mt2008

  • La Papesse
    by Rusty Woodward Gladdish

    US$3.42–US$68.40

The human being believes there must be an answer for everything, but there are some things that it’s better to accept because as yet there is no scientific explanation. The human mind is full of images, real and imaginary cohabiting side by side. When I started this painting I had no idea where it was going as I hadn’t done my usual sketches. It is a work of symbolism and the surreal. It almost painted itself! Do you ever get the feeling that you’re being taken over….........?

This is an abstract, obviously. :) I took a pic of my sister’s hallway and layered it with my daughter’s face. I think it turned out pretty funky.

This is from a larger work called ‘Forbidden Fruit’ comprising 25 groups of 5 images. This is the third image of group 24. The creative process begins with felt tip pen drawings on graph paper. These are then scanned into photoshop and digitally manipulated to create the effect of photographed installations. Whilst the content is clearly non-figurative and geometrically derived there is a genuine message to the work. I am either exposing to conscious inspection the archtypical patterns underlying ‘the meaning of life, the universe and everything’ or I’m “completely off my head”. In the final analysis it’s just a work of art.

Photons are both particles and waves. With light came time and the necessity for multi-dimensional space. Photons bridge the divide between an infinitude of nothingness and an infinitessimally small something. Bursting forth from the singlarity of a point source the photon’s discreteness splays out in all directions, first one dimensionally, then two-dimensionally, then three, reaching out to all four quarters of space in its race to be everywhere in one timeless moment only known to itself.

  • Remember not that they died but what they died fighting for. / Remember that they understood or at least tried to understand the weight of there actions, and that they knew when to put there guns down. My grandfather and many other men and women fought and many died in the “great wars” ww1 and ww2. They stood up to tyrany and stood for everybodies right to live in a diverse and equal society of agreed upon (voted for) values and laws and the right to live and express each others personal beliefs in respect of our fellow humankind and the world around us flora fauna etc. OK so were not perfect and have a long way to go, but not so far if you actually think about it if we work together. war today has become big business not the means to restoring balance and harmony. maybe today if the people who took our countries to war thought about the weight of there actions at a core level face to face with those they might wage war upon they would change there minds and realise that picking up guns should only be a last resort with a view to developing greater (more peacefull) means of conflict resolution. this subject is so diverse and heavily that it would take hours to discuss the topic of war in depth. my statement with this piece is basicly for people in power and people in general to think about the weight of there actions when “bringing out the big guns” so to speak.

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Pen on paper This is a work I did some time ago now, a ‘rambling of the mind’ or something like that. I have several works in progress, but I need to be in the right state of mind to work in this particular style. I’ve been moving more towards the complexity of colour, so this style has temporarily been put on the back burner.
