Equitana Melbourne 2008 gave us a Western Spectacular night, which was based around a rodeo competition with a few western show events given a spotlight between rounds. This bareback rider was in for the long haul … (taken with Canon G10 & sharpness edited for variation & fun!)
Equitana Melbourne 2008 gave us a Western Spectacular night, which was based around a rodeo competition with a few western show events given a spotlight between rounds. One of the highlights of any rodeo has got to be the speed & sill of the barrel racers, who attempt to run a cloverleaf pattern around 3 drums, without knocking any down & hopefully completing a rund in under 17 seconds to be in the placings!
Equitana Melbourne 2008 gave us a Western Spectacular night, which was based around a rodeo competition with a few western show events given a spotlight between rounds. Here, a barrel racer has completed the cloverleaf pattern around the 3 barrels & is turning her horse’s head for the wild dash to the finish line. She’ll need to be under 17 seconds to hope for a placing!

This cowboy gave his all to reach that 8 second bell, the bronc gave his all to try & lose him – this time the cowboy won! The pick-up riders are there to ensure they get the cowboy safely away from the bronc at the end of the ride & also to remove the bucking strap from the horse.

This is my first attempt at adding images to a journal. I have been putting this off for so long now, thought it was time I bit the bullet and just did it. Computer skills are not my strong point. Here goes!! / I must thank Lisa Kenny for her great tutorial on Journal and how to do them My mum won some ticket to Equitana last year. It was a fantastic day and of course I went ready with my camera. This is my first attempt at “action” shots. / Most of these riders were kids. What they did in these games was absolutely amazing.
