This image is a composite of infectious diseases under microscope… honestly, it is. Goes to show it’s all in how you look at it. Its working title was “BrilliantPains”...

  • The Dunwich Cemetery. This Cemetery is one of the oldest and most historic in Queensland. This cemetery bears witness to the many phases of institutionalised Dunwich. The oldest graves date back to 1850, the first year of the quarantine station, when a ship arrived with a typhus epidemic aboard. This resulted in the deaths of two Doctors, Ballow and Mitchell, and 26 emigrants. Also 2 Medical Superintendents and staff from the Benevolent Institution are buried there, together with 8426 inmates, most in unmarked graves. A memorial has recently been erected for the inmates. Many Aborigine descendants are also buried there

In Cuba, he has been syncretized with Saint Lazarus. / He governs epidemics and heals infectious diseases. Though originally associated with smallpox, many of today’s worshippers appeal to Babalu-Aye for healing from HIV/AIDs. / Sources tell us he walks on crutches — or possibly carries them. He also has two dogs. To snif out infection? / He will do his best against infections and epidemics. But like most doctors, Babalu-Aye is very overworked and understaffed. However, he will not say no to offerings of white wine and popcorn.
