  • I was trying to capture the whole environmental aspect here…..and what may happen in the future if changes are not made…(its already happening – photo was taken in Tumut last year).

  • I have already posted a photo basically the same as this, slightly different angle, but after looking again, I think I like this one better. Any opinions? Please check out Melinda Kerr

  • This is an oil painting done after the smog in Los Angeles reached critical mass in the late 70’s. The sky looked like brown soup. It suggests that “Clean Air” was possible only in a different future. This old man, with gas mask, isn’t optimistic, having been witness to man’s disregard for the environment for a long, long, long time. It is signed by Diana Bauer, which was me, Diana Maus, in earlier days…

  • global warming is not cool I was reading yesterday… “Twenty-one animal species, including the cheetah, three dolphin families and an Egyptian vulture, were added to the list of those in danger of extinction by a UN conference that ended Friday…” / article link 21 new species face extinction while there are many factors at play here — CO2, obliterated habitat, genetic inbreeding to noise pollution — one thing is clear, humans are uniquely and paradoxically positioned as both perpetrator and saviour. power is not to be squandered.

  • natural design is definitely a favorite subject for me . Hope you enjoy . Captures take in fort Myers, waters, Florida USA . Florida has so many great places to paddle. No state can match its variety of water – lakes, inlets, lagoons, rivers, streams, springs, ocean and a gulf – accessible 365 days a year! And, there seems no better way to explore this vast network of water than by canoe. It’s easy to cast away your cares and find peace and relaxation among Florida’s matchless beauty – there’s nothing like the quiet of Mother Nature to soothe and give you a fresh outlook on things. An added bonus is the many opportunities to see wildlife along the way – white and blue herons, turtles, alligators, and sandhill cranes to name a few. So, pack a picnic and test your spirit of adventure… discover the “real” Florida. Almost 50 of Florida’s State Parks permit canoing, with over half of those offering equipment rentals, so no matter where you are in the state, chances are you are close to water. Here are some of the more popular locations for setting out on your adventure… source of info

  • A monarch Butterflies are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings. Like all insects, they have six jointed legs, 3 body parts, a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton. The three body parts are the head, thorax (the chest), and abdomen (the tail end). The four wings and the six legs of the butterfly are attached to the thorax. The thorax contains the muscles that make the legs and wings move. Butterfly Estates Gardens at Fort Myers, Florida

  • This was a very personal piece of work, i’ve had the concept in my head for some years. I always wondered what it would be like if the cities we knew today were abandoned and left in the hands of nature. Would nature break up the walls, stone and concreate and attempt to retake and heal the world in the absense of mankind. I imagined a jungle where once streets and buidings took on the form of rivers and hills, stepping through what appears to be a jungle is the remains and ruins of coridoors, underground networks, halls, streets and buildings. I liked the idea of a small secret pool hidden amongst the ruins, a place that might seem inviting as a refuge or place of protection.
