This was painted in acrylic on a gessoed board. The board was heavily textured first with white gesso, and used as a background while working on other paintings. Eventually I saw a puzzle-like quality develop from so many layers, and so many silhouettes placed upon the board. It is a progressive piece that allowed one line and shape to become a catalyst for the next. It is the refined “product” of other productions. There are a few implied figures that emerged within the center, and I really enjoy the overall feeling that this painting has. It was painted in 2005.
