More from the Lightscapes Set Gorgeous morning at a car boot. I got distracted by this and walked off a bit to take this at 5.30am on a cold winters morning.
I took this on a recent trip to Brighton, and got up early so I could catch some cool light, and the dynamics of what was a very rough sea… well… comparitively. Brighton Pier is one of the classic 19th century piers in the UK, amusements on the end, kiss me quick hats for sale and so on… Black and white has given the picture an edge over the colour version….
Watercolour on A4 sized paper. Seaton Sluice is a picturesque little seaside village three miles down the coats from where we Iive. The colours and whimsicalism are mine though. My first t-shirt design using one of my most popular photographs. This image of a classic London telephone box was taken near the Embankment tube stop. I removed all the color in the image and then by hand brushed the B&W layer away exposing just the vivid spot color of the red booth using photoshop. My best selling image now available as a t-shirt design! More photos from Britain

‘Gold Hill’ Dorset.. thankfully there are places like this still left in England..and the ‘powers that be’ are looking after it and preserving for future generations…
an old mining pit wheel in a village near where i live, these are dotted about all over this part of the country, left to celebrate the past glory days of the coal mining industry, the sun was just going down, there was frost on the ground and i was frozen !!!!!
March 2008 I’d pulled in to capture a picture of the Cooling Towers at the Ratcliffe-On-Soar Power Station in Nottinghamshire but on the walk from the car I just couldn’t believe the sky I saw on the way past this field. Taken with a Nikon D40 and Nikon 18-55mm lens at 18mm

March 2008 I’d pulled in to capture a picture of the Cooling Towers at the Ratcliffe-On-Soar Power Station in Nottinghamshire but on the walk from the car I just couldn’t believe the sky I saw on the way past this field. The clouds really were that shape. Taken on Nikon D40, 18-55mm Nikon lens at 18mm.

I went over to my former home town of Totnes in South Devon UK.,this morning having checked that high tide was at 09,56 and all was still with the River Dart like a mirror and beautiful lateral warm light. A similar scene to my earlier Reflections of the Past image that was taken with my trusty old Nikon D100. Still getting accustomed to all the features on my recently purchased Nikon D300 but was more than pleased with the results of the images I took this morning, this one having little editing, just a slight perspective crop and a little sharpening. Nikon D300 / 18 – 70 @ 29mm / AP F16 for 1/13sec / CP Filter

Originally uploaded in March ‘08, this was a capture of the storm that hit SW England that same month. / This was taken from the bridge at Dawlish Railway Station, Devon, England. / Despite the rough weather, the trains continued to run, and this stretch of track is the most expensive to maintain, due to the battering it gets from the sea. / This is a common sight in Dawlish during the winter months, and sometimes during the Summer months also. This picture was originally tonemapped by Dave Warren and I have revamped it a little bit to give it a slightly different look. Thanks again to Dave for his help with this.
