Here in South Lincolnshire we’ve had pretty much no snow all winter. If it did snow (and I don’t recall any to speak of) it was a brief flurry and didn’t cover the ground. So, of course, now that it’s pretty much spring, we finally get some. Here’s what we woke up to find last Sunday morning.

I’d like to say a very warm “Thank You”, to the Hosts/Admins of / the “Snow, Glorious Snow!” Group. A very nice welcoming gift / indeed to have been featured before first art submission! As any RB member living in England is aware, we do indeed / have a fair amount of snow on the ground, enough to have / brought London itself to a halt yesterday. Heathrow canceled / all short haul flights, and long hauls were experiencing severe / delays on both landings and takeoffs with cancellations expected. The bushes, trees and rosebushes in my front and back yards / are loaded down with mini-drifts of flakes interrupted in their / fall towards the ground; an unusual site in the UK since the / ‘70s. I took some camcorder footage as the snowfall progressed, / but unfortunately have no stills as yet. As I have bad knees, / my hubby is reluctant to let me out of the house to shoot / photos of the aftermath (there is a glorious sun shining in a / near-cloudless sky, threatening glare blindness to anyone not / taking proper precautions when walking or travelling, and snow / has already glossed over into a slippery icy crust in places). So I will hope to upload the footage somewhere and get a still / that way…lol!

We’ve had a fair bit of snow this week, something that’s pretty rare in this part of the UK. So, today, I couldn’t resist heading out with the camera to take some shots when the snow let up: Billingborough Snow.
