Two Brighton Deck chairs sit with great vantage spot of a incoming storm front. I love the moody feel to this shot. I must thank Matthew Bonnington for his help in bringing the most out of this shot, his help with some new processing techniques really add impact to this shot.
Dawn across the Tamar river on the border between Cornwall and Devon in the UK. The road bridge was opened in 1961, the rail bridge, built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, probably the best engineer of the Victorian era, was opened in 1859 and is still in daily use. / I took this shot on a cold November morning from the Cornish side of the river just as the sun was rising and didn’t realise until later that I had also captured a seagull in the frame. Taken at Weymouth, Dorset in Spring 2007 / Photographer: GlennB / Glenn Bauer of Wiltshire, England A large number of these had been released from their pen by activists under cover of darkness the night before. I found this one a little apart from the heard just chilling in the gentle Atlantic waves off Southern England’s coast.
Early morning shot of Paington beach and pier Devon.
On this bridge as a boy scout I saw a ghost, from then it became special, almost ethereal in my eyes. The sight of such an unexplained event inspires and triggers the imagination of a young boy to life. I still look at this bridge and wonder which realm the spirit came from and what secrets are held in every arch and brick of this unique structure. In the soft early morning light, the reflections shimmer on the water like ripples through time, stirring the souls of those who have passed over the bridge, and passed across dimensions. This is not just a bridge over a piece of water it is a bridge which spans time, space and maybe spirituality, to me it is the bridge of faith and belief, a bridge of discovery and imagination, a bridge of light and life, a true contender for the most beautiful bridge in the world. To me it is already a winner, it moved and inspired me it helped to make me what I am today, what I believe and what I feel. Alance Bridge this is my entry as the most Beautiful Bridge in the world.
....oh no not another shot from Saltburn Pier, sorry I couldn’t stop myself!

My wife and I recently got back from our two week convalescing summer holiday in the Highlands of Scotland. So if you haven’t seen or heard from me that is where I have been. We had a great time and I even managed to get a few shots for you to see. I hope you like the series but please don’t feel obligated to comment on them. If you do however thank you very much in advance, if you don’t comment I thank you for looking all the same. And of course if you haven’t seen my work you are missing a treat. LOL Please call back again soon. This windswept tree stood alone in a field but it wasn’t feeling sorry for itself because it knew it wasn’t alone in the world. It could see the beauty in nature all around it, the passing birds and animals, the distant mountains and the hedges running along side of the fields and the colourful flowers and grasses reaching for the blue sky high above. So when you start feeling sorry for yourself thinking you are alone, just take a long hard look around you and see you are not alone. So this was the view we woke up to every morning from our lovely studio apartment in Abriachan, Scotland. This shot was about 9.30 in the evening. The sky darkened for more rain as did the foreground but it was so beautifully lit on the mountains and gave us a slight rainbow to gaze over. In the dip between the trees and mountains and out of sight was Loch Ness. I hope you like the photo and thank you so much for viewing my work, please call back again soon. A hot summer’s day, but the deckchairs are yet to be filled on Weymouth beach.
The traditional seaside showing of Punch & Judy waits for its next audience. The sun was shining behind me, with dark rainclouds to the front of me. Over-use of ND filters has enhanced the clouds. The clouds eventually left and I didn’t get wet, it was actually very hot! Weymouth, UK.

“They found a naked child upon the sands Of dark Tintagel by the Cornish sea; And that was approven King:” / Tennyson (Idyll of the Kings) / There are many myths and legends associated with Tintagel and the surrounding area. Geoffrey of Monmouth, the King Arthur populist who lived in the 12th century was the first to connect Arthur with Tintagel in his 1136 work Historia Regum Britanniae, or History of the Kings of Britain. Monmouth cited Tintagel as the spot where 5th century King Arthur was conceived circa A.D., 480-500. Another popular myth which surrounds Tintagel is that of Merlin’s Cave which can be found below the castle and visited via the beach at low tide. It is said that Merlin lived in a cave below fortress of Tintagel while King Arthur grew up, to be his teacher Tintagel Castle is one of the most mysterious and beautiful historic sites in Britain. Situated on the west coast of Cornwall, Tintagel is built on the remains of a coastal headland which is gradually being eroded by the sea. Historians believe that it dates back to the 13th century and it has been long associated with the legend of King Arthur. From Squidoo….......
