i had what was probably my most distressing day in marrakech…..saddened and sometimes even a little angered by what i had seen going on around me. the treatment of the animals, the treatment of eachother…..i decided to head back home…..i wanted nothing more than to get out of there on the next train…...i saw this guy up ahead of me and thought for a moment about what being surrounded by this everyday does to your head…...you couldn’t live here and maintain the level of empathy that we can allow ourselves to feel at home….. with safety nets, animal rights and the rest of it….these things don’t exist here…...not because these people are mean spirited….but simply because they are too busy trying to survive…..i thought…..how long would it take to errode my compassion…...? / / .....a part of my someone series

Most of us can remember a farm we used to love to visit or a farm we once called home. Whatever the case, this nostalgic scene brings back memories of simpler times and family ties. I talked to the elderly couple who built this barn. It’s over 50 years old, they told me; they built it themselves. Their house burned down and was rebuilt, but the old barn survived and still stands, a page in a memory book that will never be erased.

The infamous Pink Pig Porsche that was designed for Can-Am and tested for aerodynamics at the 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans. It didn’t finish due to a crash, but it has left its mark on racing history for its incredibly unique paint scheme showing various pork cuts in German. It was affectionately called “Der Trüffel-Jäger von Zuffenhausen” or “The Truffle-Hunter from Zuffenhausen.”

i was originally going to call this Savaged but decided to call it Survival because thats what women do, they survive against all odds and this is a tribute to those women who stand tall and proud and make this world a safer place for their sisters and daughters….....this work was influenced by the style of Francis Bacon.. sketched in corel painter and then painted using artists oil brushes textures added….......
