Silence Lane / I love cemeteries. / For some people, cemeteries are places of dread. For me, they are places of wonderful quiet and peace. A place of resting, whatever your religion, if any. Memories wrapped in stone and tree shadows. A place to reflect, and wonder about life. Perhaps our lives are just perfect – loved ones all around, financial independence; maybe fame and fortune. / In the end, we all wind up here. / / One life, one chance to feel good about it. / My rules for photography and art are very simple – I like it, or I don’t… / / Thanks for visiting my folio :) / I certainly appreciate your taking time to view what I’ve been up to, and enjoy reading your comments. / / / / Writings (or ramblings) / Come, Dark / Chandelier Brain / Eat Me / The 10th / You’re Strange, Rick / Ever-Queen / Sleeping / Beauty / The Black, White & Grey / / / / Hope / / / One / / / Reap what you Sow / / / Trust / / / Directions / / / Unconditional Love / / / The Long Road / / / Silence Lane

Drawn 2008. Age 21. “I secretly wandered to the cold dampness and quietly rested against the crumbling wall with my eyes closed; hoping in vain to be forgotten and left alone”

2008. Age 21 This started as a simple pen sketch (just quickly jotting down some ideas), but now i feel very happy with the finished result. There is a lot of meaning behind this image, however i will reframe from sharing my own ideas in fear of hindering your own nterpretations. Thank you for viewing my artwork.

Shot this morning, a 3 bracket HDR image, output through Photoshop and Photomatix. As I said I was moving out to the country, and the photo-opps are numerous! :) I have always found scenes like this in rural America almost iconic in a sense, the ever enduring struggle of the American Farmer vs Government and big Corporate America. When I saw this I just stopped dead in my tracks, what you don’t see is the ranch house which was built about 30 years ago all boarded up….just sitting there….it really is just sad, seeing these open fields go to waste, the barn empty, with rusty farm equipment, harking back to when a family made an honest living off the land and the crops they raised. Part of America forever lost, part of a families tradition gone, forever. So goes life at times on the Eastern Plains of Colorado….... Thoughts welcomed ..the song below simply says it all…... —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. ...like a love that slowly fades away. This image has special meaning to me, it was created during a rough time in my life.

I met this man in a small village in Hungary. I have never met before anyone who could have looked in the lens like him.

A moment of youthful exuberance.

Some people take so much that they leave you with nothing. Emotions become caged in self defence and have to be slowly freed. Once we get to the stage where we realise what has happened, we can surround ourselves with the people that truly matter to us. We can finally be ourselves and accept that we must move on. / I made this for my Abeona crew, and for myself. Maybe we’re not so different after all…. Linkin Park Numb / i’m tired of being what you want me to be / feeling so faithless / lost under the surface / i don’t know what you’re expecting of me / put under the pressure / of walking in your shoes / [caught in the undertow / just caught in the undertow] / every step that i take is another mistake to you i’ve / become so numb / i can’t feel you there / become so tired / so much more aware / i’m becoming this / all i want to do / is be more like me / and be less like you can’t you see that you’re smothering me / holding too tightly / afraid to lose control / cause everything that you thought i would be / has fallen apart right in front of you [caught in the undertow / just caught in the undertow] / every step that i take is another mistake to you / [caught in the undertow / just caught in the undertow] / and every second i waste is more than i can take but i know / i may end up failing too / but i know / you were just like me / with someone disappointed in you /

This is the second in the ‘Can I Live Here Too’ series…this is a bengal tiger cub….alone his parents poached for their skins and bones for silly human reasons…he now has to find a way to survive….this is a sad story with no happy ending….the statistics for these beautiful and magestic beings are not good at all and if we dont do anything soon they will be gone…one day the only place our children will be able to view a tiger is in a book….is this ok? do people not see a problem with this?we cant sit back and watch these wonderful souls disappear, because us humans have such huge egos and think we have a right to own the world….help me in the fight for their lives….spread the word, knowledge is power! “Can you look me in my eyes and still leave me cold and alone….” / As with all in this series 50% of any and all proceeds go to the Defenders of Wildlife: in my attempt to help….please help open people’s eyes and show them how to love…. / Another way to help save these babies! With a T-Shirt!

...These most recent pieces (my best work yet) reflect how I choose to view myself, life and everything it ‘that is’...!! I would describe life in the same way I do myself…. a mess… but a BEAUTIFUL one!!! ...These latest pieces would not have been brought to life without the inspiration of my BEST friend. She not only inspired this latest work but the title for this piece too! =)

To me, this photo symbolizes the beautiful journey of a father and son through life.. Silhouettes are my favorite thing to capture, there is so much emotion without even seeing facial expressions.
