The Reaper by Paul Rees-Jones This is about the Reaper family, / A serious bunch, never too silly. Well, in truth, it’s about one, / One who reaps with a bit of fun. The youngest in the Reaper clan, / Quite a smart, little dead man. He brought a group of playful kids, / To the yard, oh yes he did. And why, you ask, would he save? / Just release them from their graves? When you are a Reaper Grim, / The days are long and awful dim. But to this small little reaper, / Loneliness ran a little deeper. So he made his friendly ghouls, / By breaking about 20 rules. But it’s worth it when the day is done, / Cause this lil Reaper finally has fun!

Check it out here! * / Frankie and Temperance by Paul Rees-Jones Frankie was made in a hurry, in the lab, / Brought to life on a cold electric slab. He was given a body with all of the parts, / And was given an oversized heart. From the moment he saw her , she was his deliverence, / That dead Lil Zombie, the cute and lovely Temperance. He swooned and swayed, thought he’d pop a stitch, / Whenever around her, his voice lost it’s pitch. He planned and tried so often to say, / The words in his heart every day. Now if he knew how Temperance felt for him, / He wouldn’t have worry, nor feel so grim. Cause when she looked at him with her good eye, / Inside her cold heart was a loving sweet sigh. So there they are these sweet Lil dears, / All thats stopping their love is their silly fears.

This is the first full page illustration to the upcoming book ‘The Lighter Side of Dark: Enter the Yard’, coming soon! I know it has taken quite some time to finish these piece, since I am so picky and keep putting it away and bringing it back out later on, but I am very,very proud with how it turned out! :) I hope you all enjoy it so much that you are just chewing your nails, waiting for the book so you can buy it :D

This work is to promote the new group Victoriandustrial. What is Victoriandustrial? Victorian with an edgy modern goth, punk feel. Corsets, tea parties, absinthe, Gothic Lolita. It’s subculture baby, alternative decadence. Think tight-laced corsets, decadent tea parties, bloomers, bloomered harlot/rogue, bustle skirts and combat boots. Absinthe drinkers, prince of Denmark, Dandy wretched men in tophat and tales, striped stockings and chains…. Check out the group for more information :P For this work I was trying my hardest to be punky and edgy while really showing off the Victorian style. Lol…Don’t know if I succeeded though…Oh well I had alot of fun making this :P

Molly the Lil Witch, Oscar and Ophelia by Paul Rees-Jones The night was stormy and rather bleak, / Molly was a little bored witchy freak. She mulled over spells and warmed up her cauldron, / To create some friends to end her boredom. She delicately sewed a doll from rags, / Smiling and singing, a rather cute hag. And when she was done she was bright as a star, / Because held in her hands was the rag boy, Oscar. But soon she thought about the little boys heart, / To be all alone when his life just starts. So she borrowed small string of yarn from his hair, / And fashioned Ophelia, a sister to share. A spell and a cloud of nasty green smoke, / And Molly had made two little doll folk.
