I really like how it came out, i wanted to do it like an anime show cell shaded people and painted like background. But then at the same time i wanted to keep the background minimalistic and cell shade the way that i do not the way you would normally find in an anime.
The dark elf rested on the rock face, taking the moment to wipe the last trace of blood from her blade. The dull light made her eyes ache, and she wished again that she was miles underground… Thanks to Kym Breeze for being an awesome sport and coming out with me for the day for a fantasy-themed photo session! She was a great model, not too demanding LOL!
This is my first digital artwork, I started with a pencil sketch which I scanned in, and painted over in Adobe Photoshop CS. / I’ve had a few comments about the neck and chest being too long and the cloak is not quite ‘flowing’ enough, which I went back to fix a little, though some problems do remain. Enjoy! =) BTW, the colours look really nice as a canvas print! =P Tools: Photoshop CS and Wacom / Time Consumed: Around 20 hours / Art ©AmberDust 2006

The Aos Sidhe (pronounced “ess shee”), are a powerful, supernatural race comparable to the fairies or elves of other traditions. / They live in an invisible world that coexists with the world of humans. / The Gaelic Otherworld is seen as being closer at the times of dusk and dawn, therefore this is seen as a time special to the Aos Sidhe, as are some of the festivals such as Samhain and Midsummer. The Aos Sidhe are generally described as stunningly beautiful, though they can also be terrible and hideous. I cursed myself for walking too deep into the forest and missing seeing the sunset from the view point high on the hillside like i intended, but the evening rays brought colour to the forest like I wouldnt have imagined. / The forest is very much still in green, but the backlighting from the sunset has given such warmth to the leaves. As it was so late in the day, this is a 1 second exposure. other photos from the forests around my home / / Loki’s Forest

This is the finished (for now!) artwork that had once been called “Conversation Piece.” As Mark Twain said on the art of writing, a good author is never content with his work and always seeks to revise it. So, too, are my 3D art pieces. Feedback is always, always, always, highly encouraged and looked for, not to mention that those providing any are appreciated, thanked, and potentially worshipped ahead of time. / ~~ /

Featured in the groups “Pets and People” and “The Sisterhood”. This is an acrylic painting of the Tuatha de Danann goddess of the forest. In the ancient Irish myth she is a very sensual being. This is true of many forest goddesses and faeries, as Mother Nature is very sensual. But there is also usually a certain amount of danger involved with these beings. I tried to paint Flidais as if she is beckoning you to come play in the woods with her, and yet there is a slight warning in her and her stag’s eyes.
9×12 pastel on colorfix paper I am thinking a lot about stars and black holes today. I read someone’s theory yesterday about a black hole somewhere in Ursa major that he believes adepts in the past were able to draw energy into their bodies from there and this led to enlightenment. There is a lot more to it than that, but it definately has me thinking. Maybe shooting stars are souls returning to Earth, and maybe / this Elven maiden is bringing the energy of the stars into her third eye through the portal over her third eye, the Elven Star.

This is me. August 2009 in Eugene, Oregon at a magical Festival called, FaerieWorlds / I plan to go every year as it is my new home. (photo taken by my father in mid daylight, I darkened it quite a bit) Makeup and editing by me. Horns and Ears were bought at the festival and applied by me. There was an amazing band that played at FaerieWorlds called Faun / Please follow that link to their myspace and Listen to the song “Andro”. Every time they played this song everybody joined hands and danced to create an amazing spiral of people. It was so beautiful to be a part of. /
Changed the title to “Samhain”. The term “Samhain” derives from the name of a month in the ancient Celtic calendar, in particular the first three nights of this month, with the festival marking the end of the summer season and the end of the harvest. The Gaelic festival became associated with the Catholic All Souls’ Day, and appears to have influenced the secular customs now connected with Halloween. It is also the Gaelic word for the month of “November”. stock credits / model / http://froweminahildstock.deviantart.com/art/Medieval-Forest-Stock-004-140359100 background / http://ashensorrow.deviantart.com/art/Premade-Background-170-139338303
