I wrote these lyrics back in 1983 while sitting on the beach in Kwajalein Atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The accompanying tune originally started out as an instrumental for the Dobro called “Miss Elouise ”, but I was toying with the chord phrasing and decided to write a joke song in the vein of Johnny Cash’s “A Boy Named Sue”.
