High Pwnage
by AjmdcA term thrown around the internet. by gamers as per definition found on urbandictionary verb: A term used to express one’s act or state of elite preformance. Pwnage stems from the word “pwn” which is a typographical error of the word “own”. The “p” replaces the “o” because during the frenzy of gaming, the player has no time to correct any spelling mistakes. This word is traditionally used by experienced videogamers, “leet” speakers and others involved in computer minded social or work groups. / “I played Halo 2 online today. I had 24 cosecutive kills… it was pownage like never before” “I let those n00bs feel the wrath of my pwnage”

Far from being a Brian Eno reference, I noticed, some time after processing, that my favourite Tonka Toy does seem to be bearing down on a rather lush & verdant tree. Some sort of comentary on the ravages that industry inflicts on this little green world of ours? Possibly, I just know this dozer rules. It was so big that I couldn’t get all of it in the frame – given the clutter around me. It was a bit like trying to understand the size & shape of an elephant when you’re only 3ft away from it!

Took this photo a couple years ago and always liked it. I decided to play with it a bit in PSCS3. Converted to B&W added sepia tint, dragged it over the original color version and brought back the color slightly in select areas. Added another layer of golden textures, adjusted opacity and removed texture from model..

Torksey Castle is a wonderful old Tudor ruin. Dating from the 16th century it was the manor house of the Jermyn family. Little is now left except the grand facade, with it’s lofty towers, and aspect over the River Trent. There are very few alternate angles that look quite as good, so it was a case of taking the ‘classic’ view and trying to do it better! Luckily for me, the very heavy frost and low raking sunrise enhanced an already magical location.
