1840 v2.0 / With the original versions of these pictures I was not able to use all the shots because they where damaged. But now, four years later, and with Photo Shop CS3, I’m able to rescue some really great pictures and show them now with pride. / This series was done in the middle of the woods, around the middle of Dec, 2002. It was freezing! The hot chocolate helped though. Most of these pictures are with Theak & Alex standing together, this was not a direction, and they were doing this out of a need for warmth! Half of these pictures were taken using a Nikon F, or F2 I believe, (no markings on the camera), and the other half with a Canon G3 digital camera. / Great makeup job by Rhiana, and of course, the whole look and feel of this shoot would not have been possible if not for the styling of Elisa. / Photo by Jef Harris / http://www.jefharris.net

Vaharsolt Balakthanov is a Chechnyan painter who is 44 years old. He had an honour to be elected as Chechnya’s best painter in 1996-1999. He graduated from the world famous Repin Institute in St. Petersburg. His paintings represent classical realism and he is specialized in landscape and portrait painting. Nowadays the artist lives in Finland with his family. He has had several exhibitions in Chechnya, Russia and Finland.

Inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson tale ‘The Wild Swans’ Although the girl in the story does not become a swan, (all her 11 brothers do) she continues to watch over her swan brothers, taking a vow of silence and stitching magic shirts for them. / In a sense her silence becomes her cage as the swan body en cages the brothers. She must carry this devotion and love in silence, she must bide the time until the spell can be broken. / So I guess this is a symbolic version of the girl Elisa. / / From the series of swan girls I sketch.

This is one of the roses my daughter sent me here in Phoenix, AZ USA for Mother’s Day 2009. I will hold on to this rose for ever Kaila Girl!!! I dedicate this photo to my Grandmother “Elisa” who passed away in 2001 of Alzheimers Disease. She was Beautiful, and she was a Comedian!!
