Just Past Summer It was a time you let go / And caught the wind / Absent a rudder to slice your way through / Just Past Summer, / You let go of wondering how to Love, / You did. / Colors / Blended into one voice / Truth / Beating swiftly / Like cream does to butter. / Just Past Summer, / A fire as big as a sunset / Was started, / Using all the dried up dreams / And the gutter remains. / Rich you said, / Smell the smoke, / Sacred release. / The ashes you spread out like a table / Serving doubt and loneliness / Featuring a cold vichyssoise that had / A hint of Hope. / This hint you said, / Will complement the rest, / Fear not. / Dessert was three layers of / Rich longing, / Covered with a double dark / Butter cream of Love. / Always Love / You said… / Then off you went, / To catch the boat with no rudder, / On a warm Chinook breeze / That took you to Just Past Summer.

The first thoughts that come to me when I think of London are graffiti, music, landmarks and consumerism. This is my attempt to combine the 4 elements. / The bean tin/aerosol can express the continued perception of graffiti art being a criminal act while hundreds of 20ft bill boards avertising shit are allowed to stain our streets. / Look past the buy two get a third free when you dont need one!!!! / . / My entry for the London Calling competition. / Also entered into the Inspired by urban street stencil and graffiti art competition.

Original Artwork 40×50cm Acrylic on Canson 300g Rough Paper. / Featured in Live, Love, Dream -June 2009 / Featured in All the Colors of the Rainbow -June 2009 / Voted into the Top Ten of Painted Ladies Challenge -June 2009 Water, Land, Fire and Air… inspired by the four elements and each being showcased by a woman…. / I tried to tie each woman to her element with color and hairstyle as well,...in the woman with water, her hair looks like it is wet and spilling into her jug of water… the woman of Earth is holding a bouquet which matches her haircolor and the flowers in her hair ..the fire woman’s hair resembles the flame and the woman of air, her hair matches her fan, a cloudy greyish blue and looks windswept ! Hope you like them! /

Paint layering process is used in these paintings to create many layers and depths of texture. This particular painting “Organic Elements” Series II is a subdued feeling with earthy colors of teal, patina, golds, greens and blues.
