Green Expectations – The Grid SP AusNet Short Film Competition / The Competition / The Grid – SP AusNet Short Film Competition is an Australia-wide competition for short-film makers to create a work that explores our connection to the electricity grid and how we use electricity in the face of a growing awareness within our communities of the effects of climate change. Categories: / • Schools First Prize $1000 / Honourable Mention $200 / • Tertiary incl TAFE First Prize $1000 / Honourable Mention $200 / • Open First prize $4000 / Honourable Mention $500 Short films may be made in any form that is able to tell your story - / Animation… digital story-telling… documentary…etc….. As well as the cash prizes all films will be considered for opportunities for state-wide screenings, screening at the SP AusNet Short Film Festival in Gippsland and inclusion in other Green Expectations projects. Prize winners will be informed no later than 17 August 2009. A panel of local and national artists, project sponsor and local electricity distributor SP AusNet, and filmmakers will judge the submissions. Closing date: 31 July 2009. Short Film concepts / • The Grid project explores the role the Latrobe Valley plays as the heart of energy generation in Victoria. / • The electricity grid is the network of lines and cables that carries the electricity that we all rely on in our daily lives.
