The sky had changed colour to a greenish tinge as these wall of clouds rolled in(most likely hail fell somewhere) looking across the Nerang River towards Cheveron Island 20/11/08 View more of my storm images / / Storms
The wind had started to pick up and this was one of my last shots before tripod was blown over and had to seek shelter from the rain. Looking towards Cheveron Island 20/11/08 View more of my storm images / / Storms
managed to just squeeze this in before it started to bucket down- the winds went gale force. Normally I shoot from the other side of the broadwater but the storm split and ended up behind me. The Broadwater overlooking Sundale Bridge/Southport, Gold Coast (03/12/08) / Got some more from the other side but the buildings were in the way a bit(was heading to the beach before the downpour) View more of my storm images / / Storms
The hi-rises of Main Beach with lightning going out to sea. Forgot my wet weather gear today and caught on the wrong side of the bridge as I was watching a cell to the north and one moved in behind me. Overlooking the broadwater, Gold Coast (06/12/08) View more of my storm images / / Storms
Looking south across the Nerang River towards Surfers with the oncoming storm. I had hoped it would drift further north. (18/12/08) View more of my storm images / / Storms
Different forms of electricity, one that pollutes and one that’s feared. Looking towards Surfers Paradise across the Nerang River with the bright orange lights of Sundale Bridge left and Paradise Waters to the right. (18/12/08) View more of my storm images / / Storms
An old way of transporting electricity left behind due to its dangers. For example, the Warnings on cigarette boxes, there is a tattered warning sign that can still be read. ~ I took this picture using my Kodak EasyShare C743 Digital Camera, 3x Optical Zoom.
Looking over the Broadwater towards Southport Yacht Club/Main Beach, it was a great show and a little harder to shoot(this night) with rouge bolts landing behind the buildings on occasions blowing out exposures that should end up like this. / 29/12/08 Gold Coast View more of my storm images / / Storms
I watched a cell moving towards Beaudesert on the radar, hoping it would swing towards the coast. Round 9:45pm I decided to go chase, arrived and as I was setting up, a bigger, clean air bolt struck Q1. Couple of the guys fishing here started to pay me out for missing this bolt so I asked them “Where’s your fish?” / Looking towards Surfers Paradise(01/01/09) View more of my storm images / / Storms
Looking across the Broadwater towards the bright lights of Marina Mirage(left) and the Southport Yacht Club(right) with the storm moving out to sea(29/12/08). / Been a bit quiet on the storm front 09 on the Goldie- it does give me time to go back and tidy up files and keep an eye on weather maps for the next storm. This is/was “100” with my standard curves/levels adjustment that I do, 100 was pretty much as is out of the camera and I was never really happy with how it looked. Does processing make a real difference? / Hi Rises and Surfers Paradise taken from under this tiny awning at Budds Beach(20/11/08)
Taken last year on the 29/12/08, not many storms this year(only 1 really) . / Not sure on this one due to the amount of white surrounding the bolt, too much? Send to the scrap heap and wait for the next one? Looking across the Southport Broadwater towards the hi-rises of Main Beach. / 30seconds f5.6. Lens 18mm View more of my storm images / / Storms
Summer is over and storms have been few and far between this year on the Gold Coast. This little show lasted 10 minutes before it was out to sea. Looking towards Main Beach across the Broadwater, Gold Coast(04/03/09) View more of my storm images / / Storms
A morning walk along the Susquehanna River at Harrisburg Pa is sometimes very inspiring. The morning sun creates beautiful reflections and wonderful contrasts between the shadows and highlights of the bridges. Canon 40D, ISO 200, f/22 at 125th sec at 18mm focal length.

2006 Commonwealth Games Melbourne, Victoria Australia. These fish were floating on Melbourne’s Yarra River and were brightly lit and would spray water and change colour. This was a very popular attraction and people would line both banks of the river every hour to view the spectacle. Best viewed large Nikon D70 / Lens 18-70mm / A F4.5 / S 2s / F/L 70mm / ISO 200
